I stand by Paddington in Peru being an immigrant story and I stand by my high rating of it!

Have yet to encounter a Stephen Graham Jones book that hasnβt made me cry. βBeing a werewolf isnβt just teeth and clawsβ¦itβs inside. Itβs how you look at the world. Itβs how the world looks back at you.β
IRC, Tech had/has a pretty prominent and impressive gender studies program. This is devastating
Thereβs also the idea that regardless of the intent of any given art piece, people will make of it what they will. Will choose to see what they want. One outcome is a foundation for anti-fascism and the other is whatever people see when they view it and still end up supporting fascism.
I actually donβt think Andor is as nuanced as it could have been for the messages it tries to convey (one of my critics of aspects of it). Itβs more nuanced than some other SW, certainly, but at the end of the day itβs anti-fascism 101. Some people just choose not to see it.
Amidst Censorship, "Andor" Is a Miracle. A Disney-owned series that speaks up about fascism and what it takes to fight against it, where head executives at Disney are considering allowing their content to be censored and controlled by the government.

I would trust Beau Willimon with my life, I think. Andor Eps 4-6 were π₯
I literally fell to my knees and thanked gods itβs after the Emmys cut off because that means it might not be the last season
Iβm also surprised and annoyed there wasnβt a content warning at the beginning. I know lots of people who could have used the warning to prepare themselves and avoid the heavy personal triggers as much as possible.
I also have complicated feelings about that. I keep going back and forth, but I canβt help the automatic feeling I got that went beyond the discomfort I know they intended. At the very least, it will hopefully encourage much needed conversations about the brutal accuracy of that.
The universe said βoh you wanted the rogue one and AOTC bag clips? You can have them but we will take all joy you had for a certain show coming up and rip it out of your very heart.β
I correctly guessed two of those Star Wars poster bag clips last Friday and must have cause a glitch in the matrix because not a single good thing has happened to me since then.
A copy of the comic book Star Wars: Beyond Victory handed out at the Meta Quest booth; the initials "ES" are on the cover in silver ink
Star Wars giveaway! π« I have one copy of the Beyond Victory comic that was only available at the show -- signed by writer Ethan Sacks! Just repost this by the end of Tuesday, April 22, 2025, and I'll pick a name at random and send it by mail.

The Temple of Geek podcast kicked off its coverage of The Last of Us Season 2 with an in-depth discussion of the premiere episode, "Future Days". Β #thelastofus templeofgeek.com/delve-deep-i... @writteninthesw.bsky.social
JKR funded the campaign group behind all this btw. This is why we beg you to stop engaging with Harry Potter media.
βIn true Craig Mazin fashion, this series continues to push the boundaries of what a faithful adaptation looks like when its creators allow it to grow on its own.β

Olivia and I also have some fun TLOU shirts to debut in our next episode! And Iβll always have something TLOU related lurking in the background π
This was such a good day! Always grateful I got to take part in this π
So excited to do a podcast with one of my best friends. We both love this story so much!
swcj panel schedule: 4-5pm on the fan stage, 18 april 2025 senator, rebel, chancellor: who is mon mothma?
mon mothma panel description
so this is really real and really happening, huh?
i really hope to see yβall there!
come watch me talk about my favourite star wars character for an hour.
To no oneβs surprise, Ayo Edebiri is a star. Her and John Malkovich work together so incredibly well, weβre frankly lucky to be able to witness it.
Opus, in my opinion, is not nearly as bad as some critics would have you believe. I saw it a few days early and left the screening excited for what director Mark Anthony Green will bring to the table next. My non-spoiler @templeofgeek.bsky.social review: templeofgeek.com/opus-review-...
Thanks for having me!
wow! day ten of the andor countdown already?
itβs time to talk about the man of the hour, of the series: Cassian
thank you so much, Dr Danielle (@writteninthesw.bsky.social), π«Άπ» for coming on and chatting about our man!
