We need to service this debt and making paying it down a major focus of every budget. It is a monster chicken coming home to roost in 2036. Social Security solvency is a looming problem, too.
I wish EVERY TIME this administration or congress starts a program or does something unnecessary - like placing giant banners on buildings or insists on a military parade or buys massive warehouses - that the costs was mentioned alongside the national debt.
