I've said that before in other places, but VKD3D is also a project we started from day 1. For instance, one of our design goals was to also be usable as a standalone library for native games to integrate for DX12 translation, which is why wasn't just additional code in wined3d at the time.
What's the next few words you cut out after that? We were talking about PCs.

A fix has been deployed for the Baldur's Gate 3 install issue. May have to restart Steam Deck for it to pick up the new configuration.
There's native Linux games, and wow64 likely has an unacceptable perf hit (tbd). Distro still has to provide 32bit graphics drivers, glibc, etc, at the very least.
It's less about Steam itself and more about the thousands of 32bit games that people have already purchased that will never be updated.
