Book cover of Artificial Condition by Martha Wells showing a human-like figure in an armored space suit standing on a dock with a huge airship hovering overhead
Book #10 of 2026: Artificial Condition by Martha Wells
The second book of the Murderbot Diaries series was just as good as the first, building on the character of Murderbot in another eventful adventure. Each of these books is a short read, yet you get a lot of story out of the limited pages.
I can smell this picture!
A calendar showing book covers of the books read for each day in February 2026 with a link to booktrack.app in the bottom right corner
A total of 1,496 pages read over 24 hours and 19 minutes of reading time in February. A little off my goal of 60 books in 2026, but Iβm still over a day of reading time each month.
Boom cover of Camino Ghosts by John Grisham showing the edge of the shoreline in the forefront looking out to a dark silhouette of an isolated island under a full moon.
Book #9 of 2026: Camino Ghosts by John Grisham
The third and final book of the Camino Island series and the best of the trio. A legal drama with a bit of historical fiction and paranormal backstory interwoven throughout that keeps you engaged in the past and the present.
Spring Training games start today and the Nationals are not in a great position - no offseason moves, no cable channel announcement (only a streaming app for now), and a predicted 100 loss season. Good thing we have a good suite group again this year.
Book cover of The Martian by Andy Weir showing an astronaut alone on Mars floating in the air with a dust storm underneath him
Book #8 of 2026: The Martian by Andy Weir
A fun book that inspired a decent movie. I liked the way it was mostly written as log entires and kind of nerdy. Humor mixed with drama while tiptoeing the line of possible reality.
YouTube is down⦠what will I pretend to watch and fall asleep to in the first 2 minutes tonight?!?
First and last - now just to get all the in between!
No subscriptions either!
We have our own self-hosted cameras through Unifi Protect. Itβs not cheap and requires some technical knowledge, but it has cloud access that only you have access to and itβs all local to you.
Book cover of The Long Game by Rachel Reid showing two hockey players on the ice staring at each other in close proximity while linking pinkies with the hands holding their hockey sticks.
Book #7 of 2026: The Long Game by Rachel Reid
Finally finishing the series (at least the currently published books). A great ending to the series and a nice quick check in with most of the other book characters. And it was nice to not have so many time jumps this time around.

Book cover of The Dragon Reborn by Robert Jordan, book three of the Wheel of Time series.
Book #6 of 2026: The Dragon Reborn by Robert Jordan
Back into the world of Aes Sedai, the Dark One, and the Forsaken with the third book in the Wheel of Time series, I love how Robert Jordan can bring three mostly separate story lines together at the end so seamlessly.

It is this little manβs birthday today - happy 6th birthday, Beauregard!
The one good thing about all this Kennedy Center nonsense is that DC has a few other theaters/stages that will hopefully get more business because of this.
I have loved the A*Teens since high school and they have a new song for the first time in 22 years and are competing in Melfest. Itβs the little things to make 2026 bearable!

A calendar of January 2026 showing the book covers of the book read each day of the month with a URL to boktrack.app in the lower right-hand corner.
A total of 1,731 pages read during 1,637 minutes across 6 books in January 2026. As nerdy as it sounds, I enjoy being able to keep track of my reading progress.
I hate doing job interviews (on both sides). When Iβm interviewed, Iβm not great at talking myself up as I usually just let my work do the talking for me. And when Iβm doing the interviewing, Iβm usually wondering about how much they are saying is BS.
I remember flipping through these at a red light trying to find that one CD that wasnβt in its place.
They have Shoresy right there, just have them do a stop by in Sudbury.
Not for nothing, but my HOA was definitely calling the complainers out in their message.
The HOA sent an 8 paragraph email about why pretreatment of the roads in the community will not work with this storm and the last paragraph says they are doing it anyway because people complained. This area becomes stupid during snow.
It really does add a nice element to the mix!
Book cover of Role Model by Rachel Reid showing a brown-haired hockey player on the ice with a red-headed guy in a beanie taking a picture of the player. A cute dog is stealing the show next to the guy taking a picture.
Book #5 of 2026: Role Model by Rachel Reid
The fifth book of the Game Changers series and a quick read for me. I liked the themes the book tackled outside of the romance as well as the fact that there was no fake relationship drama this time around. Probably my second favorite of the series so far.
One of my favorite lines from any movie is βLooks like two pigs fightinβ under a blanket.β
I read the first two in the series last year after hearing they were pretty good and I enjoyed the different take on the crime thriller genre. I read Patricia Cornwell and Janet Evanovich in the past, which had female main characters, so this was a change up for me.
The real question is what did you set the thermostat to?
Book cover of WInterkill written by C.J. Box, a Joe Picket Novel. The cover features three trees standing alone in a landscape of deep snow.
Book #4 of 2026: Winterkill by C.J. Box
The third book of the Joe Pickett series with a bit of a darker turn on the character and series. The antagonist reminded me of a certain "security" secretary even though it was published back in 2003.
