i am organizing a reading this thursday, oct 19, with yvonne albers and mark prince. both take an unusual approach to the genre of biographical writing, in that they focus on the unreliability of the authors’ access to their middle eastern roots.
ON THE EDGE OF THE EMPTY QUARTER | reading and discussion (thursday, oct 19, 6 pm). any picture or text referring to the middle east today naturally reminds us of the current situation, the brutal terrorist attack of hamas perpetrated against israel ten days ago, and its violent repercussions.
