It’s the harm that is currently being perpetuated with glee from those Power. It is the 50% of the nation that thinks it’s OK to do damage to
It’s not the learning that has changed my feelings. It’s not the fact that our founding fathers were flawed to the 10th°. It’s not that our economy was based on the labor of enslaved humans.
It’s the Fourth of July and my heart feels sad. I remember being young and being so excited about the birth of our nation, though what I had learned was only half the truth.
I’m not sure why I am choosing to share here…

I understand your frustration about him stepping down, but Connolly has been my member for years and he is truly a man of the people. He is battling cancer. He’s actually a really good guy who spends a ton of time in the community and cares about his constituents.
Ohio was my childhood home. I never felt like I belonged there. I left at 21 never to return, but my heart is broken with how it keeps being hateful. There are fabulous places there, little wonderful places with lovely people, but as a whole it feels broken.

My BFF and I would sit for hours singing with Sade!!!! That album is still on one of my favorites!
It was basically not using horrible unkind language to each other or racial, slurs or ablest slurs or religious slurs. It was basically just being a good human being.
A student I work with has not used verbal communication, but this week they used their first verbal word approximation. It was clearly the h sound to repeat the word help. We were also using ASL so I know that it was functional communication too!!!! I was dancing happy!

I’m so sorry. I know how you feel and it is hard to okay right now. What works for me is finding what I can do…shopping, protesting, donating….and then giving myself breaks. Take a hike or watch dumb TV. Find something to keep yourself tethered to positive feelings
