The fact is, we live in a world where art doesn't actually matter. Not to the industries literally eating themselves alive just so line can keep going up, and apparently not to the masses who keep saying they do care about it either. My bitter cup runneth over. 4

Getting shuttered because they were forced to make a live service game that nobody wanted by the industry giant that bought them is a huge slap in the face. They should have gotten raked across the coals and had a profound shakedown for the art shit. 3

The fact that "gamers", critics and players alike, were perfectly okay with that, actually changed my entire viewpoint on gaming as a whole. For the worse. I'm glad they're not getting a chance to do that again. Do I despise the reason why they're getting canned now? Absolutely. 2

I'm not supposed to be happy about the news, but I am. When the art of a game is disrespected on such a fundamental level (even going so far as changing architecture design, which can't be explained as being told to censor stuff), then there's something deeply wrong with the mindset of the studio. 1

So anyway, with Falc0m saying they're going to be rewriting the 3rd remake to better fit with a different continuity, I'm really wondering if there's going to be a franchise from J4pan that'll be worth keeping up with. S4Ga, I guess? Unless, it got deepsixed by Squeenix's neverending stupidity too.

It probably doesn't count, but I blame everything roguelike in modern gaming on The Binding of Isaac.

I don't think the other games are bad either. Judgment is amazing. But man. MAN. I just can't see a worthwhile future for the franchise going forward if they're doing this shit.

I'd say go with 4 too. It's really good and what actually got me interested in the series in the first place. Dead Souls is also fucking amazing even though it's not a main game, cause lol, zombies, and you can only get it for PS3, but yeah. 😂

LRT: They're delisting it because Seg4 is scummy (they all are, this isn't me singling Seg4 out, okay), but this is literally the only good version of the game outside of Japan. 😂 The PS3 version was butchered too, so there's no way I can tell you to go with the original release, lmao.
