*Correction because I misspoke: they're not just related to Archelosauria, but are grouped in that clade *together* with archosaurs, who are their closest living relatives.

Successive climate crises in the deep past drove the early evolution and radiation of reptiles Sixty million years of climatic crises drove the rate and mode of reptile adaptive evolution across the Permian and Triassic.

My understanding is that they *used* to be grouped with anapsids based on skull structure, but more recent genetic research has reclassified them as diapsids. According to this 2022 cladogram, their closest extant relatives are Archelosauria (birds + crocodilians): www.science.org/doi/10.1126/...

Jeez, that's awful. I'm sorry you went through that.

What bugs me is how many people do this without even realizing, but the result is the same: others are punished for not supplying unconditional validation. It's important to feel heard, but without reciprocity it's just emotional hostage-taking.

Sadly that tracks. A person who assumes innate categorical goodness overrides their actual behaviors is liable to rationalize.

"You say I hurt you, but only bad people do that. Since I am a good person, I did not hurt you. And even if I did, it was justified." Many such cases :(

And yes, they're all single strokes. I've seen people who can work magic with premade brushes, but I'm never happy with how they look in my art xP Plus it's kind of nice to get in the zone and make repetitive motions LOL. I usually add paper textures or colored noise on top, though

I've been a little burnt out lately & Thinking about the artistic process. It feels good to finish things, but if that's the only part I can enjoy, then I'm setting up to fail.

Lately detail feels less like a barrier to finishing. Not sure what it's become now, but I think I'm beginning to like it

2026 (so far, big WIP from back in 2024 that I have been chipping away at the past few weeks). Whenever I feel like my art hasn't changed all that much, I look at how much more detail I'm willing to describe, and realize that I've gained quite a bit of finesse, or at least patience.
