A nice hero's journey moment for Grace at the end after the credits, too. Returning to the start, having grown and changed from the experience.

Finished Resident Evil Requiem. Solid game, I had a fun time with it. May or may not have chosen the bad ending first and had to go back.

I liked Grace as a new protagonist, and I think it did a good job of balancing her sections with Leon's, giving a fun balance of RE7 and RE4 playstyles.

Last night, a player rolled a natural 20 with a complication, bumping the result up to 30 and granting her an opportunity which let her choose to pass advantage to another party member, but also raising the alert level of the people they were hiding from. It just adds a nice bit of spice to things.

At this point, my group is excited whenever I say "...and let's raise the stakes on this one" when calling for a roll. Even a complication ends up being something to kind of hope for, because while it might make the situation more tricky, the bonus might give you the bump you need to succeed.

I'm finding that I really like the Plot Die mechanic in this system. It helps give certain rolls more weight, can give players a pleasant surprise of unexpected agency in the results of their actions, and provides a good prompt for more interesting results of a roll.

I Am Your Beast is a very solid game, definitely worth giving it a try.
Excited to see there's more incoming.

A 2 panel comic.
The first panel shows Impact slightly leaned forward and smiling.
Text reads: "You have work that needs to be done. People are being so kind and patient while they wait for you to finish..."
The second panel shows impact zoomed in slightly looking slightly more panicked.
Text reads: "DO NOT SPEND THE ENTIRE DAY PLAYING THE NEW VIDEO GAME."

Trying to keep myself on task. Yes I did make this instead of working.

Really am tired of the people I care about and so many others having to fight for the right to exist.

This is in no way an "other GMs are bad" observation, more a "bringing my consistent bad luck with me into groups" one.

(If you're my current Pathfinder GM reading this, I am looking forward to session 1 whenever we're able to get it going. Apologies for the bad scheduling luck so far.)

25.02.2026 20:52 ๐Ÿ‘ 1 ๐Ÿ” 0 ๐Ÿ’ฌ 0 ๐Ÿ“Œ 0

It's never been due to drama or anything like that. Mostly just scheduling conflicts, shifts in people's life priorities, and/or losing the momentum to get or keep it going. The people involved are still friends and people I've played TTRPGs with since. It's just a personal trend I've noticed.

25.02.2026 20:52 ๐Ÿ‘ 1 ๐Ÿ” 0 ๐Ÿ’ฌ 1 ๐Ÿ“Œ 0

It's been a little over a year since the last time I was a player in a game (though I have been running Stormlight as a GM since August, and that's going well so far.)

25.02.2026 20:52 ๐Ÿ‘ 0 ๐Ÿ” 0 ๐Ÿ’ฌ 1 ๐Ÿ“Œ 0

I got my ration of one (1) full DnD campaign that went all the way to level 20 and wrapped up nicely 5 or 6 years ago, and to balance it out every attempt at a long running campaign I've joined as a player has either failed to get off the ground or fizzled out after a few sessions.

25.02.2026 20:52 ๐Ÿ‘ 0 ๐Ÿ” 0 ๐Ÿ’ฌ 1 ๐Ÿ“Œ 0

I don't consider myself a superstitious person. No shade to those who do, but I don't believe in innate luck, curses, predestination, supernatural karma, or fate...

But god damn if TTRPG scheduling when I'm not GMing doesn't do its level best to try and convince me otherwise.

A harpy eagle aarakocra lounges back, wings outstretched and one foot resting on his other knee, almost posting for the camera. He holds a long, curved spear in one hand, and a set of throwing spears hang from his belt. He wears some bits of leather armor and a low-cut vest, and a red cloth is wrapped around and hanging from his belt alongside various trinkets and trophies.

I haven't been animating as much as I'd like to lately. I should fix that.

That said, have a WIP of Hakuri as a little treat. (My other favorite Kagurabachi character.)

Book is "They Thought They Were Free" by Milton Mayer. Written in 1955, interviewing 10 average German citizens about their lives under the regime.

12.02.2026 02:53 ๐Ÿ‘ 5 ๐Ÿ” 0 ๐Ÿ’ฌ 0 ๐Ÿ“Œ 0

I tell ya, reading a book about Nazi Germany doesn't exactly dissuade one from making comparisons to current events and the current regime. Especially when, at one point, it also offhandedly mentions Minneapolis and the rounding up of thousands of Japanese Americans in the same paragraph.

Huge thanks to anyone taking the time to check out or share these types of threads. Y'all are generally so kind and cool to work with, and I appreciate you.

Grateful for those commissioning for helping to keep me out of the full-time retail grind!

But yeah, expect an updated comm sheet for this and the new ad account sometime soon. Mostly just a few sparse price updates (no huge price hikes, people have been so kind with tips), and codifying some edge cases and questions that have come up this past year.

Trying to get some new commission sheets made for the new year, so I'm finally getting around to being a little bit more professional by making a proper TOS document.

Luckily, y'all have been cool, and I haven't needed one for CYA reasons thus far, but it'll be good to have just in case.
