Great interview. Though I did think @lewisgoodall.com was going to break into a rendition of “Do you sleep Mrs Thatcher, do you sleep?” for a minute there!

⚡ Carbon flexing can also be used to pool flex/carbon rewards for community benefit, e.g a hardship fund
More detail on the Trellick pilot and Energy Unlocked's wider 24/7 CFE modelling linked below. We'd love to hear feedback
Thanks for reading, live long and prosper!🖖

⚡Stop data centre demand blowing national carbon budgets
⚡Incentivise landlords/LAs to upgrade buildings and invest in smart #EV charging
⚡Bring flex benefits to excluded groups, e.g. heat-with-rent tenants
⚡Reward co-location of green generation with flexible demand now, ahead of market reforms 3/4
Hourly matching of renewable generation with flexible electricity demand i.e. 'carbon flexing', or '24/7 carbon-free energy' - offers valuable applications as we decarbonise:🌤️ 🔌 2/4

Energy Unlocked is a non-profit creating governance strategies to deliver smarter, fairer and more efficient energy and digital outcomes. We'd love to speak to those doing similar work or interested in applying a governance lens to their mission. Promise we don't bite 🧟 www.energyunlocked.org 5/5
Informed choices and tailored services require transparency, communication, competition and interoperability.
HOW we proceed is as important as WHAT we are trying to achieve. This requires a strategy - listing 'good governance' as an objective is as meaningless as saying we want 'good policy'. 4/5
Thankfully, when it comes to energy and climate policy, we still have the ability to meet people where they are, and safeguard the things that make our lives worthwhile. It's messy, frustrating and will require us to get a lot more granular about justice metrics and governance standards. ⚖️ 3/5
🍄 When does the end justify the means? If we save humankind but sacrifice our humanity to get there, what are we fighting for?
🍄 Desperate ruling classes invariably prioritise control and order over agency and dignity, having hesitated in the face of early warning signs. 2/5
*(More) governance lessons from the apocalypse* 🧟♀️ 🧟♂️
Finally watching HBO's The Last of US. (#billandfrankforever 🍓🍷 )
As with all good dystopian fiction - in addition to making me question how transferable my skills would be in a zombie takeover - it raises big ethical issues. 1/5
Bias in automatic fact checking and censorship may well be a problem, but the answer to that is surely more transparency so that the process can be scrutinised and improved, not returning to the wild west 🤠 3/3
Yes I know that all my posts end with the same rec of transparency & better governance!
It's time to place the onus of responsibility on tech giants whose algorithms peddle misinformation and hate - optimising for 'engagement' rather than pursuit of truth and understanding. We can keep moving platforms but the echo chamber danger is real. 2/2
But free speech has never meant no fact checking.
Free speech has never meant that defamation is permitted.
It's no coincidence that the UK PM is tied up defending nonsense allegations from Musk rather than getting on with his actual job 🧐 1/3

𝟰. 𝗛𝘂𝗺𝗮𝗻𝘀 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗴𝗼𝗻𝗻𝗮 𝗵𝘂𝗺𝗮𝗻: Despite reproductive control & oppression, a covert group of "flamekeepers" keep hope alive over decades through stories, symbols & education. There will always be a minority ready to step into the unknown, push boundaries and risk great sacrifice to seek truth 🔍 5/6
