Black Lives Matter at School Week of Action!
People showed out in the thousands! It was incredible to witness educators from across Seattle and the state, cross-sector union siblings such as the healthcare workers and tech workers, and community members come together under the common fight to keep our schools and community safe.
BLM at School Week of Action is upon us, and you are invited to attend the Press Conference on Tuesday, January 27 at 4:30pm at Seattle City Hall in the Lobby.
The terror that ICE is inflicting on the community has only escalated when we rallied with others at the federal building on Friday to show our solidarity with Minnesota's general strike and to demand that ICE get out for good. #iceoutofschools #abolishice
Our collective power is the force needed to disrupt the current structures of inequity and harm.
On October 7, 1965, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. declared at the Illinois AFL-CIO Convention that “the labor movement was the principal force that transformed misery and despair into hope and progress.”

Join us on Saturday, January 17 from 10am to noon for our Winter Summit held at the Seattle Liberation Center (606 Maynard Ave S, Seattle).
We will reflect on and determine next steps on our 2025-26 priorities which are grounded in building transparency.
This Sunday, January 11, 11am-1pm, thee is a Know Your Rights training hosted by the Seattle Education Association Immigration Committee.

The US attack on Venezuela is about extracting resources from the land to line the pockets of billionaires while our public services, such as education, are being underfunded.

We are organizing to build a transparent, democratic, strike-ready union. We will continue to build coalition, especially as we fight to protect immigrant students and families and trans students.
We returned to the strike camp at the Starbucks Headquarters to chalk and picket. @sbworkersunited.org has some great chants such as 🎶 Brian Niccol you can’t hide! We can see your greedy side! 🎶
Starbucks did not like the chalk and order facility maintaince workers to wash off the chalk.
On Saturday, December 20th, we joined a rally at Starbucks workers’ strike camp at the Starbucks Headquarters. There have been rolling strikes across the city and country since November 13th as workers bring attention to the unfair labor practices and union busting as well as demand improved pay, hours, and staffing.
