Illinois has enshrined transgender human rights protections in state law. It's one big reason so many trans people are uprooting themselves from their homes, communities, jobs, families, etc. and coming to Illinois.
It can still take a LONG time for this shit to be resolved legally.
It's inspiring when we pay each other's rent, but we are not allowed to ask why the communities terrorized by the state are expected to pay rent at all. Can't even ask for a delay. No infringement upon the rights of the ownership class.
SURJ has done good work here in minneapolis but the national org.............
cmon man
some of these orgs are doing very good work, I need them to give me a REALLY good reason why this is a bad policy before I forgive them (but I'd hear it from them before I hear it from Jacob)
guys get your shit together, come on
it's incredible how jacob frey continues to disappoint me despite my expectations for him being in hell
We need reparations for ICE victims.
Anything short of that is setting the stage for a massive wealth grab from people of color that will re-entrench racial disparities for generations.
yeah almost definitely some kind of grift
she's running against ilhan lolllllllll
Most people rejected his message. They hated Freud because he told them the truth.
Every trans suicide is murder. Do not ever fucking talk to me about "fairness in sports." Do not talk to me about Gavin Newsom. Nothing you have to say matters more than trans children living to adulthood.
what the HELL

it feels so fucking good when one of these guys gets an ounce of accountability. public trials with the bitchiest judges we have would go so hard.
Senate Building 95 West University Avenue Saint Paul, Minnesota 55155 NIN Minnesota House State Office Building 100 Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd. Saint Paul, Minnesota 55155 March 10, 2026 Dear Mayor Frey, As elected officials who represent Minneapolis, we ask you to sign Pause Evictions Save Lives (legislative file 2026-00099). Temporarily extending the pre-eviction notice from 30 to 60 days gives our residents extra time that is desperately needed to help find resources to prevent eviction. We've all been amazed by our shared constituents' resiliency and resolve in the face of ICE's illegal occupation of our City. Our residents banded together to protect one another, even raising millions of dollars in mutual aid funds to help keep their neighbors in their homes. It's our duty as elected officials to match the commitment in our residents to try and keep as many of our neighbors in their homes as possible. We look to Minneapolis to lead the way and are working on similar bills to extend pre-eviction notices statewide to help our neighbors. Signing the Pause Evictions Save Lives measure will bolster our efforts and reinforce our message to our colleagues about the way in which pre-eviction notices help prevent families from being evicted. We've been so proud of the work of the City of Minneapolis to respond to this unprecedented federal invasion. Your work to increase funding for immigration legal services, rental assistance, and creating a small business resiliency fund has shown how elected officials can meet the moment. Signing Pause Eviction Save Lives is the next step in helping our residents recover and ensure none of them are left behind. Thank you to our Minneapolis state legislative delegation for urging Mayor Frey to support a pause on evictions. Our city faces a housing and addiction emergency worsened by Operation Metro Surge. A 60-day pre-eviction notice and rental assistance can help keep people housed and save lives.
The Ones Who Walk Away from Omelas but everyone agrees it's fine to continue the atrocity as long as the child is trans
i raised $3000 for my neighbors' rent by making two (2) facebook posts; feeling pretty good about it!!!! the goal is $5800, if you want to help, dm me for my venmo
I've encountered this kind of BS when fundraising in the past, and it's enraging. Let's just support people, y'all. Their lives are not for our consumption.
hahahahahahahaha
the fuck did you say
oh hell yeah, saved that info for later. I have so many high femme clothes I'd love a trans lady to have!! Next time I do a cleanout I'll reach out.
well that's hugely disappointing! guess i need a new place to donate clothes!
Things in Minnesota have resumed to the point where Trump-appointed judges can act like Trump-appointed judges again
soooooo many mental health meds are technically "off label" in their use. gabapentin for anxiety! trazodone for insomnia!! antipsychotics for OCD!! these are very regular normal things people take all the time that work for them. this is a horrible line of logic.
