For me correspondence chess is (was) the closest thing to classical. I would prefer that no assistance would be allowed in chess.com and Lichess. I will keep playing like that

You are right! They allow books, lessons or videos 🙁. Not much different than using the engine

Those are indeed the rules of the International Correspondence Chess Federation. In chess.com the use of engines, books, etc. is not allowed. In Lichess only opening books are allowed (this was a surprise to me, I thought it had the same rules as chess.com)

It could be correspondence without engines or books...

I just made a starter pack called All Chess, All the Time. It is composed of people that regularly post, and it is almost entirely chess. I created it for myself so that my entire feed could be chess. If you would like to be added to it let me know.
