Yeah. Speaking of Costco, I just filled up today. Regular was 2.99. Last week it was 2.55. Costco is generally about 10 cents a gallon cheaper than the average pump price in my area, so regular is over $3 in south Alabama, certainly not $1.99. 🙄 We tend to be on the low side vis-a-vis rest of U.S.
Indeed. I had just done a Costco run before the pandemic set in in earnest and the supply chain broke down. I had toilet paper the whole time, as well as plastic bags, paper towels, paper plates and disinfectant and missed that whole TP shortage panic. 🙂 ❤️Costco. They also held firm on DEI.
I was thinking the same thing, that maybe something's going on with his head or his hair that he doesn't want to show. Maybe it's the first thing I thought of because I'm on chemo right now and wear lots of hats. There's that weird rash on his neck, too. But a baseball cap? Better hat choices exist.
And it hasn't been all that long that BOTH hospital ships were dry docked together in Mobile. The company servicing them, Alabama Shipyard, posted a photo on its Facebook page of the two ships side by side, noting how unusual that is. I see the one ship every day from I-10 on my morning commute.

Business v ideology. Now, if $ had come from A's pro-MAGA Preserve America PAC, that'd be another story.

The current Court majority is a classic captured court.
The Justices pick the outcome they want, and work backwards from there, inventing and disregarding legal theories on the fly in the process.
And they're FREE. All we require at mine to get a library card is some form of ID that ties you to the address you list on the application. Doesn't have to be a DL or have a picture on it. Could be a utility bill or rent receipt or a bank statement. No birth certificate or passports necessary.

I heard somewhere (Thom Hartmann on the radio, perhaps) that Thune's plan is not to bring it on its own to the Senate floor (he knows it's DOA) but to attach it to some must-pass spending bill and get it through that way.

👍So is forcing people to show birth certs and possibly marriage/divorce certs to prove citizenship and eligibility. No state that I know of issues those documents for free. They're $15 each in my state (plus postage/handling if you order online or by mail) and take forever. Poll taxes were cheaper.
Can you imagine what would have happened if a female Scotus nominee had displayed the histrionics we got from Kavanaugh (and Lindsay Graham, for that matter) in those hearings? I can hear the "she's on the rag" jokes already.
My gr-gr-gfather emigrated here from Canada in the 1850s. Family story is he was from Nova Scotia, but all the documents say Newfoundland. I also have Trudeau ancestors from the French Canadians who settled in coastal AL in the early 1700s. Nice to have an escape valve if things get too bad.
And for the ones who constantly bring up the earlier video, it's telling that in BOTH encounters, he was carrying a gun, yet never once put his hand on it or thought to use it in a threatening manner, even when he was clearly quite angry. He showed more restraint and self-control than his killers.
