A canopy of mango trees drawn in pencil and then scanned into clip studio and painted over digitally, golden greens and ochre colour the scene with blinding white light creeping through the leaves and branches, silhouettes of tree trunks and dappled light hit the earth below. A somewhat safe feeling. Home? Is this home? No, there is only you and no one is here again, but it is far greater than the house you must return too. Stay until it’s dark again? Staying he thinks. Mosquitos swarm. Staying he thinks. The bats descend. Staying. The mangos rot. Stay.

My favourite trees, an old lot of mango trees. Used to come to these trees a lot when I was a younger version of myself, would climb them and try to get what the bats had not yet demolished.
Never really had a “safe space” as a kid, but this is as close to home as I ever got. Still visit sometimes

A boy/man emerges from a cave entrance to a star speckled night sky, the viewer (you) is further back in the cave watching the scene from behind, the cave walls catch glimmering light slithers from the stars, a small path connects you to the figure, the colours are soft and warm but still give off a cold atmosphere. The image is hand drawn using clip studio and a Wacom tablet.

Finished this one, trying to actually finish paintings for once is kinda new for me

I painted this knight around February this year, thought I may as well post the process sketches (ramming my head against a wall) I started off wanting foliage and stuff coming out of the visor, then smoke, the end result is somewhere in-between, this is one of my paintings I’m most happy with. #art
