They'd be OK with you turning up to the commons looking like this if you're a rich white bloke.

Yep. Of course she could always rely on rich donor to refurnish her wardrobe. Not a very Green approach though.

Probably the same folks that complain about all MPs being the same yet can’t cope with someone different who does not fit the mould.

I would apply this in England in a similar way. Forget voting along national party lines (your councillor has no control over decisions in Westminster). Vote for decent locals with a good work ethic and common sense who will work hard for their communities.

My response was limited to her one comment not the whole thread. I also said later on that I don’t blame the parents who can afford it engaging a lawyer to help fight their kid’s corner.

Isn’t that how most sane governments would act until after the event?

Sadly, as with MAGA, there will be the hardcore 15% who will hang on in there despite all the evidence presented to them.

Water crisis looms as company warns it can’t meet demand for new homes Councillors say it must serve as a wake-up call on the Labour government's plans to build 1.5m new homes

South East Water says it can't provide water to all new homes

Water companies haven't built new reservoirs for decades, paid dividends, govts did nothing

Govt wants to build new homes but no infrastructure planning. That's what happens when you privatize essentials infrastructure.

Unbelievable that this is still rumbling on. Better that a potentially guilty person (if one actually exists) has their conviction quashed than all of the innocent continue to suffer.

Whilst it’s not a level playing field, who can blame a parent with the means for fighting for the best for their kids.

Not often I disagree but I will on this one comment. It is blatantly unfair that those who can afford to pay for a lawyer can get appropriate SEND support while others in the same situation can’t. The erosion on SEND support services is a national disgrace.

Another loophole that Parliament needs to close. Donations must be transparent and limited both in size and source.

Reeves: Brexit has not been good β€” we should align more with the EU. The Times, 13 March.

The damage to our economy, our lives, and our country over the past decade speaks for itself, and it's positive to hear Government ministers admitting that leaving the EU was a mistake. However, we must look to the future rather than the past; aligning isn't enough.

But nah. Instead of sitting in getting their news and views from the Daily Bile and GBeebies, they need to get out more and meet a wider cross-section of the population still in possession of their critical thinking skills.

An interesting article but one that may conflate correlation with cause & effect. Perhaps those who prefer certain subjects at school are more likely to think in a certain way and this also influences their political leanings.
