Help I have accidentally tricked someone into playing my unfinished gamedev doodle
The horror of being PERCIEVED
Anatomy love is so real the house is eating good tonight
Less so a top nine and moreso just a semi-ordered list of games I've never been able to stop thinking about
Okay so Iβm playing RE Village now and was the VA in this game always super hammy or was I just spoiled by Requiemβs really good voice acting, I genuinely donβt remember it being this distracting
Giant bottle means you can fit a giant tiny ship *in* the giant bottle. Obviously.
There's also debate about whether Code Veronica counts and like I was going to make an edit but now even *I'm* unsure how many mainline RE's there are
It mentions that Capcom's marketing materials for Requiem call it the 'ninth major entry', but crucially, the citation following that statement in the article *doesn't have that information in it*
The rabbit hole goes deeper: the Wikipedia talk section for that article contains a debate about this exact issue but in the context of the list of entries on the side.
Google's AI summary: "As of early 2026, including the February 2026 release of Resident Evil Requiem, there are 9 main, numbered entries in the Resident Evil series. The core series comprises Resident Evil 0, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7: Biohazard, Village, and Requiem, not counting extensive remakes or spin-offs. @ wikipedia +3"
Screenshot of Wikipedia with a sentence highlighted. The sentence reads: "The ninth main installment, Resident Evil Requiem, was released on February 27, 2026."
Okay I was going to do a bit about how "ha ha Google's massively overfunded AI can't count" but it turns out its source, *Wikipedia,* can't count either.
*Requiem, god my horse for an edit button
I donβt know what kinda transmutation Grace is doing to make that work but you go girl
So RE Requium is very good but maybe my favourite thing about it so far is that the crafting recipe for handgun bullets is scrap metal and *blood*
A screenshot of a poem: On Stoicism in the Face of Atrocity I understand That the natural inclination On mornings like this Is to be ***angry,*** Searingly, blisteringly ***angry.*** But remember, Though you may be told that cooler heads prevail: ***That is correct!*** You should be ***angry!*** We should all be Bursting into flames At news like this, On mornings like these, In times like these. Fire consumes, fire rages, fire spreads But fire also renews Burns away the old And leaves room for new growth. Sprouts from the forest floor. Phoenixes from the ashes. So be ***angry.*** Burn like a wildfire. Burn like the sun. Let your flickering flames Illuminate the things creeping in the dark Of our rotten world And burn them all To ash.
I don't have words to describe what I felt when I heard about the Iranian schoolchildren killed by our country today. I only have anger.
#poetry , for whatever it's worth.
This post brought to you by Reb forgot her meds last night.
Yβknow if you really think about it, Undertale is like a reverse Bioshock
Bioshock gives you no agency and then is like βooh you had no agencyyyβ
Undertale gives you a weird amount of agency and then is like βOooh you had so much agency actuallyyyyyyβ
You ever have a friend where youβre like βif I could get you to do two painfully obvious things I could fix your life foreverβ and then you can never get them to do either thing no matter how hard you try
The little guy metrics are off the fucking charts
Text based adventure game. It features a deep red and black aesthetic. The text entry runs along the bottom of the screen; the text of the game itself is in a 'window' which sits on the left side of a black void. There is space on the right for something. Ooooh what could it beeeee
More doodling. Partial facelift. Ooooh what could go on the riiiight you're so curiousssss oooooh #gamedev
This video was my best performing for views for, like, three hours! And then the impressions just stopped. It's gotten 1 view today. I don't know what else I could be doing at this point. I want people to watch my stuff! I like getting comments! Please show my stuff to people you dumb robot!
Graph of YouTube impressions. It flatlines quickly at ~5k.
The observable difference between "functionally random" and "so many factors that it's impossible to know or account for all of them" is minuscule but the youtube recommendations algorithm *feels* pretty dang random.
Text-based adventure game. The text reads: > say By sword or by collow, by pen and with sorrow, I grant you this name, and thus by morrow, awaken! Ext, Ent, Efeth! Reb says, "by sword or by collow, by pen and with sorrow, i grant you this name, and thus by morrow, awaken! ext, ent, efeth!". Reb says the incantation, feels the electricity in the air as she speaks the final syllables. All is still, deathly still, for a moment, two... ...And with a jerk, Praetis comes to life. Its three limbs flex, twitch, as it gets its bearings. Ah, the joy of creation. > look at Praetis Praetis jerks about, exploring its newfound existence and mobility.
You can name this creation, and I'm super happy that I was able to use my existing code for giving interactables synonyms to let you address it by name in commands:
Text-based adventure game. The text reads: > use thread on torso The work begins. First, the wound on the torso. Reb carefully threads her needle and then, with delicate fingers, pierces the flesh of the body. Thread is drawn across the crevice. A few maggots squirm beneath the skin; Reb reaches inside, pulls them from within the cavity. They thrash between her fingers, and she crushes them, their corpses shortly brushed to the floor. Back and forth, back and froth across the divide, the black thread bridging the gap, pulling it together, until at last the belly is made whole again. Reb continues, taking up the leg next. She has decided that this one will be a dancer, but a crude dancer; taking the scalpel up between her fingers in a surgeon's grip, she neatly flays the skin around the leg's severed end. It is in good condition, fresh; the pale skin splits easily, revealing the muscle beneath. Now, thread again; stitching and intertwining, the leg is attatched to the bottom of the torso, the muscles and tendons tied together into one. The arms, next. She takes great care to cut away the rot that has consumed parts of them; the grey of dead meat shines through underneath. These are tied to the hips of the torso; it will be tripedal, in nature, two hands and a foot. A dancer. Reb sits back. The [creation] is finished, nameless, sitting in a heap of limbs and meat atop the desk, fresh with new stains. She is satisfied. The work has gone well, tonight.
Y'know. Normal stuff. #gamedev
Remember: it is always morally correct to be rude to AI people and to laugh in their faces. It is a socially accepted form of bullying, like mocking nazis or telling Jacob his beard looks painted on
(featuring a player-namable character and three choices of gender)
This is of course in Narrare, the text-based adventure framework for Godot that I made last year, which is still a work in progress.
Text-based adventure game. Text reads: Reb lives in a small apartment. She lives alone in that apartment with her cat, Shelly. She's a student and a biomancer, a weaver of flesh. This is something she takes great pride in, and has invested a lot of time and sacrifice into. It is past midnight. Reb has just returned home from the local cemetery, where she has been gathering materials for her projects. These sit in a [bag] on the floor next to her [work desk]. In the corner, [Shelly] sits in his bed. > pet the cat Reb rubs Shelly's belly, the cat's fine fur tickling her fingers. Shelly purrs and blinks before going back to sleep.
Kinda been doing the #gamedev equivalent of doodling recently, in between all the other stuff
Final Fantasy V is the best one anyway here's five minutes of me talking about its best system (that they never put in a mainline game ever again)
#FinalFantasy #FinalFantasyV
So secretly Iβve been slowly revising the extant 100,000 words of the novel I started last year and today I wrote the first two new scenes in like six months! We are so back
Also, new Five Minute Feature Feature out tonight!
Anyway please watch my dumb videos thank you good day
I get that it's bad to *only* care about stuff like youtube views and whatever, there are definitely more important metrics to making things and reasons to do so, but like... If I didn't want people to see the stuff I make, I wouldn't post it? It's not about numbers, I just want my shit to be *seen*
