Solid yesterday. Him and Suzuki are not Hayashi/Chida and Taniguchi, but I’m hoping by the end of this campaign they’re on the same wavelength. Was a bit of a muted attacking threat yesterday and we were very tidy in midfield, so tougher tests will come.
Yeah, I’m definitely enjoying being able just to chill and not get too worked up about it.
I think yesterday is the first time I’ve actually seen us win outright at Kokuritsu. Nice.
I wonder how much of that stuff is supporter 建前. Normally for a Kokuritsu game I’d expect Urawa to outsell us but yesterday had a surprisingly low away support. I’m personally enjoying the down time of this silly league, but it is VERY silly.
Thought we were good, thought you sucked, but ultimately thought that none of it mattered a jot. Was heartened that the best support in Japan (no irony) wasn’t that bothered about turning up cos the whole thing is just kind of pointless. A good day out and that’s about it for me.
A pleasant surprise. Very competent, Someno ran the line well, took his goal well. Nagasawa looked absolutely at home in goal.

Nagasawa seems to have done fairly well. Having only one moment that could reasonably be called a chance is the disappointment, but same old, I guess.
Just watched highlights, for what they're worth. Rotten marking for the opener, Arai a bit unlucky with the handball (not sure how much control you're meant to have when diving to block, but maybe the ref sees it as unnatural or whatever). Looks like shape didn't help - Kashima getting behind WBs.
Didn’t see any of the game, was at a work meeting, so no idea how we played. Pish or gave a decent account of ourselves? Matheus’s shoulder knock not ideal, but a good chance for Nagasawa if it turns out to be a longer injury.
That’s an inexperienced line-up today. Inoue and Suzuki in the back three again is likely going to struggle against the champs, but pleased to see Shirai and Nakayama get a run out. Could be a doing, but ultimately it’s a good chance for risk-free game time ahead of 26/27.

Matheus taking the blame upon himself over on Instagram. He didn't have a good game, but it was a pretty messy defensive performance from much of the back line either side of half time.
Solid enough rally at the end, but undone by a catastrophic ten-minute spell early in the second half. Always going to be hard to be as defensively solid as previous years given injuries and players leaving. Nakayama did well when he came on.
