If you’re not happy it sure is a good idea to at least step away for a bit, from what I see from you, you’d still be a very creative individual, but maybe it doesn’t has to be art.
I also feel frustraded when I hear people have a passion for doing art, I don’t feel like I’m in love with it, to me doing art is more akin to breathing or doing exercises, it’s something I have to do to survive but I’m not enjoying it necessarily.
I can identify with some of your struggles. I’m in no position to say if someone should quit or not, but the times I feel like it, is usually when I’m comparing myself to my “idols“, people I look up to are machines that make art non stop apparently and I couldn’t be much different.
Thank you Hampus, your comment is very welcome as I usually just crash out every time I finish a painting thinking is garbagio, so once more thank you for the confidence boostin ❤️
Thank you!
A rare personal piece, will drop this one in the portfolio and hope it helps on the wotc call out 🙏
Open call is on their website?
A line of five of my illustrations set into the frames of five Magic cards
Pretty happy with how they all look lined up like this
What are you using to make these? I’m assuming pencils and watercolor?
Its also insane to me that your traditional work is so similar to digital, I wish I had your skills for detail.
Holy, you got to play all your rares apparently
Hopefully Day9 can gives us that
Loss of jobs, draining resources, RAM prices, etc… 👍

"Belonging", AD Zack Stella, for Magic's Lorwyn Eclipsed. My beautiful noodle beast!! Lord of the changelings!!
A traditional illustration featuring a Lorwyn elemental. Lorwyn elementals are hybrids made up of all kinds of different animals and shapes, in this case the head of a dolphin, forearms of an iguana, body of a dolphin, body and wings of a dragonfly, body and wings of a bird and the tail of a dolphin. We see the creature partially under and partially out of the water as it breaches the surface.
And finally "Subterfuge", the fourth card I did for the Lorwyn Eclipsed set!
From the FAQ page of Wayne Reynolds, you’re definitely not alone.
Couple pages from the sketchbook
You’d have been perfect for the upcoming Lorwyn set, hopefully they’ll do another one in the future.
You’re more resilient then me, when that happens my first instinct is to destroy everything
Hi, looking for some work at the moment, about to finish some stuff so I’ll be looking for new adventures. Any artists seeing this I’d love recommendations of AD’s or publishers.
Cheers!

The final D&D piece I get to share for now, from Forgotten Realms: Adventures in Faerun! Plus the painting (acrylic, 12x16) when it was in progress while I was visiting my in-laws in China this past winter.
