Yesterday I finally got pictures of the Red-breasted Nuthatch! I have been trying to get a photo of one since I got my camera over a year and a half ago. They often stay up high in the trees and don’t come down for bird seed like some of the other birds. This one landed 2 ft away from me. 😱

Really?! Oh my gosh definitely need to see one this year! Now that I know where to look I see them almost every time I go out birding. They love lakes, ponds and streams and almost anywhere with water.

The Green Heron is on the left and the Blue Heron is on the right. Green herons are quite a bit smaller than Blue Herons. They do both have long necks, however, in this photo the Green Heron doesn’t have their neck stretched out. I don’t have a good photo of that yet. Hopefully this spring! 🤞
Definitely! I’m excited to see the Green Herons again but I always love seeing the Blue Herons as well. I actually know of an area that they frequently build nests in so I’m excited to see if they are there this year as well.
