This was my introduction to Star Trek. I watched because I wanted to see a Black man leading a show. Benjamin Sisko became so much more than that to me. I named my first child after Avery Brooks.

The show that changed my life. It introduced me to Star Trek and taught me so much about myself. 🖖🏾

I held a grudge against Star Trek for over 20 years regarding Jadzia's death. My favorite character. But after I found out about the way Terry Farrell was treated, my anger went away. Now, I am just incredibly grateful that she stuck around for so long.
