Spectrogram from Audacity

I find it amazing how i can literally hear my GPU processing batches of inputs while running some machine learning models. Here's a spectrogram from a recording I made with my phone.

This + Soulseek + sync via iTunes is the only way I can avoid going into psychosis while trying to listen to music on my phone. Buy some CDs/vinyls from your fav artists to offset the freeloading if you wanna support them. They will likely still get more $ than you can ever give them via streaming.

I think coding assistance is the most successful and sensible application of LLMs, by far!

I don’t see anti-AI hype as much as I see intolerance for all the BS that has been pushed into products and services where it didn’t fit.

Wait what? We are getting r16-r31 on x86 now? Next gen Intel CPUs are going to be crazy.

My first reaction as soon as I saw that .unwrap() in the code snippet. Like hmmmm surely you don't want your whole program crashing just because you exceeded some arbitrary size limit while filling up a list?? Wut. Feels like slapping .unwrap() everywhere is way easier than it should be.

β€ͺHmm so it turns out shim_lock is not part of fw but part of the magical UEFI shim that Linux uses as signing workaround, but apparently my firmware does not like it and won't boot it?? This is truly magical... and by magical I mean I want to set my desk on fire.‬

Currently on my 4th consecutive firmware update because I decided that I want secure boot on my desktop but Grub complains that it cannot find the shim_lock UEFI protocol, so I realized I hadn't upgraded my motherboard's fw since 2021. Anyhow how's your Saturday night going?

Hey @defcon.bsky.social I think this DEF CON 33 presentation was uploaded to YouTube with the wrong title www.youtube.com/watch?v=SRAL.... The author and presenter is Philippe Laulheret (@phlaul.bsky.social), not Christopher Domas.

Turns out implementing a 50% subscription price hike is a very nice way to test the load on your servers! Seems like Microsoft's Xbox infra was not up to the test πŸ’€

After 8 years with 100Mbps I saw they were pulling fiber cables in my neighborhood, called my ISP and they said I can upgrade to 2.5Gbps for free paying 5€ less per month than what I am paying now. LMAO.
