Things people with chronic illness wish you knew (but are too tired to explain) I'm not lazy—I'm exhausted. I cancel plans because I have to, not because I want to. Rest isn't a luxury—it's a survival strategy. I'm grieving the life I used to have. Being told to "just push through" makes it worse. I want to feel better more than anyone else. Hospitals are killing people with unnecessary infections because their internal politics are more important than patients' lives. Make negligent IPAC leaders pay a price - in money, but also loss of licensure and public humiliation - and the deaths will stop overnight.
