This work would not have been possible without the exceptional efforts of Judith Mateos-Jaimez (a brilliant student, now postdoc in Cambdrige! 🎉), co-supervised by Iñaki Martin-Subero and myself, and the invaluable contributions of many collaborators (thanks to all!).
We show that LEF1 acts as an oncogenic transcription factor in CLL, with its impact driven not by mRNA levels but by protein stability and alternative splicing:
🔹 Aggressive CLL stabilizes LEF1 protein
🔹 Exon 6–skipping isoforms drive proliferation, while full-length LEF1 promotes quiescence
