Don't be afraid of having your own private surveillance system to help protect your family and property. You can do this without an "consumer grade" devices, even affordably (for most) and never have to depend on services in the "cloud". I'll explain one way to do this in this thread.

State vaccine requirements for school entry are absolutely essential if we have any hope of maintaining herd immunity.

💯 social worker here - over the years. I have worked with many people and families who have to work two or three jobs at a time to just avoid homelessness and eat. Some of the hardest workers I have ever seen are dependent on SNAP benefits to feed their families.
Whenever people complain about the number of folks relying on food stamps, it is worth reminding them that SNAP is, by too large of a degree, a subsidy for corporations that refuse to pay a living wage and their political allies who reject public policy prescriptions to reduce income inequality.
