Had some fun mail days recently, including this card. I knew Mantle was a bunter and I knew I had to find a card that depicts him bunting.
This is from a series of Mantle cards in 1994 Upper Deck - Baseball Heroes: Mickey Mantle.

Who doesn't love the kneeling bunt? It's a genuflect in the cathedral of advancing the runner.

So great!
Also, the Warhol Pete Rose was new to me - and fun!
I got a chance to watch this over the weekend (although only got through part of the Q&A so far) and enjoyed it. I'm curious if you've pursued this further since then. I also wonder if it could potentially be fruitful to look for commonalities w/commercial graphic design, rather than fine/pop art.

I think you're likely right. This poster is a good example.
I look forward to watching this!
I wonder if I was thinking of Singles (1992) which has a janky no-caps typewriter thing going on. Similar feek, but not a label maker.
That's more ransom note style, but you got further than I did... I feel like it's on the tip of my brain. Or the tip of my false memories maybe.
From my "bunt adjacent " collection, here's Mike Higgins seemingly modeling a bat - with some flair!
Andy Stankiewicz 1994 Stadium Club
Perhaps the only time the Dymo embossed label maker aesthetic defined a set? Is there a movie poster from the early '90s that might've influenced this? I feel like there was, but I can't put my finger on it.

Yeah, that seemed to be the case when I started trying to figure out what the card was. TCDB doesn't have any images of the bunting autograph version but I found other pics online that seemed to show that the autograph version has the variant pic with the bunt. Thanks for the tip!
Ooh nice! I haven't seen that card before. Just added it to my want list.
This could totally be the cover of Bunting Magazine!

Pudge bunt!

I'm hoping a Harold Reynolds superfan can answer that!
Bunting card or no?
Is Reynolds preparing to bunt or is this just part of his I'm-getting-into-my-batting-stance bat movement?
For context, I have two other Reynolds cards in my collection where he is clearly depicted bunting.

Someday I'll figure out what percentage of the cards in my collection feature pitchers bunting. I suspect that the number is lower than one might expect.

I have (and love) that Porter card. It's one of my "bunt adjacent" cards. Or, upon reflection, maybe it's just an extremely half-hearted posed bunt...

That is so 1970s Yankees. I love it.
Also, this quote:
"'I want to bunt,' said Reggie."
