Interestingly, on this Good Friday morning, I see a man dragging a crucifix across a crosswalk on my way to work. If Jesus suffered for our mortal sins, do pedestrians suffer from our auto-dependence sins?

What if every 47th minute of the day we all took a minute to stop what we were doing? We wait until that crazy, corrupt, kleptomaniac minute passed. We would pull over. We would stop typing that email. We would pause for 60s. Then, when the hour turned to its 48th minute, we returned to normal.

My bias agrees with you. Have you ever found data about these "unspoken preferences"?
Is it still too early to freak out โ๏ธ
I'm thinking of a planning session full of "hot takes" where the planning audience ranks each statement along a likert scale between Very False to Very True.
Propose your hot takes....

he has promised to not violate the code of ethics by privately profiting of Official government business, he surely meant to donate the social media platform to the US Government, right? This seems like appropriate corrective action....
I found $9.4B that the Government may seizefor ethical violations for unethical conduct by an executive branch employee. Musk's X (Twitter) is valued at $9.4B. Since he's made DOGE.gov an "Official website of the US Government" and ...
Can a Twitter feed become an "official site of the US Government?" Short-change real analysis? Inspire speculation? Smear public service? How is this self-enrichment of driving public interests to a private social media platform not a fraudulent defiance of their stated purpose to stop fraud? ๐คฎ
This should be very dependable market signals for industry to follow.
DON'T UNDERESTIMATE THE STEADYING REGULARITY OF THIS LEVEL OF FUNDING AND MARKET SIGNALS! GAHHHHH!!!!
They'd have you believe this is simply cutting government spending, but it's pulling the rug out from millions of private investments and people's forecasts for work they were depending upon following the COMMITMENTS that our US government made via appropriations and obligations.

It's maddening. I'm baffled as to how "we" in the US got here, so distanced from logic or empathy or accountability. So rife with chaos, recklessness, and disillusionment. So ripe for hostility, kleptocracy, and ill-informed contempt for proper governance.
SimCity has radicalized you!
"Insane" let's you know that Lee isn't interested in dealing with the negative consequences of the status quo.
simver lining: That's more honest than those who act like they are a sensible moderate, wasting people's time requesting a study to verify the study on [a project less car-centric].

Maybe my favorite rant by Not Just Bikes yet. Maybe because my recent election is ushering in some of these "we need a study to validate the study" types. youtu.be/KgFCQ7jEZxI?...
I think I need a road diet. My asphalt is too fat.
I live in a place for driving. Traffic ain't bad except for those 30 minute windows.
Still hazardous for air, water, health, safety, noise, finances, and tax burdens. In other words, "1 more lane will fix it."
Narcissists learn to shield themselves from shame to mentally be blameless and unaccountable. Thus, bad officials deny the world justice by lacking the humility to resign.
Humility would compromise their fragile egos.
Ppl who feel shame, have humility, and are accountable = take blame, resign.
We paved paradise and put up a parking lot because cities require businesses to build enough parking for the busiest shopping day of the year, which is TODAY.
To show how absurd this is, use #BlackFridayParking with pics of parking lots as you shop today.
I watched Wicked today. A lot of great lessons embedded in the dynamics of Oz and the school.
Protecting access for everyone is all to applicable of a lesson we need in the world these days.
IMO, the most powerful message is the trade of compromised integrity for vain, empty accolades.

Is it an unwillingness to measure outcomes objectively to face this in some rational way?
I'm always on alert from getting sucked into subjective comparisons of viewpoints. There's no point.
