I was having a book tidy up and discovered I have paused reading 8 books during 2024 and never gone back to them. My goal is to either finish them or officially DNF and give them away.
I don't really get why they feel the need to comment at all. How does someone setting a reading goal affect them in any way? If you're not interested, scroll on past.
This year's #Strictly final has been amazing. Any of the 4 would have been worthy winners but I'm so happy it's Chris and Dianne. An amazing partnership and incredible achievement.
I'll use whatever is within reach, a receipt, a ticket, another book, a letter, a cushion, my phone, the TV remote, a coaster. Not sure any of those is weird, or at least not weird for me but maybe I'm weird ๐ค
I wasn't initially a fan of the couple who went but they have grown on me and I'm a little sad to see them go. Difficult to see who else could have gone though.
I tend to hope people will introduce themselves. I had to take a newbie round at work and introduce them. I had no idea of quite a few of their names so just said this is the team and let them introduce themselves ๐
The eliminated couple didn't deserve to go but given who they were up against it was always going to go that way unfortunately.
Wrap up from Storygraph showing 10 books read, 3316 pages, 18.23 hours and an average rating of 3.78. Highest rated books were Heat of the Everflame 4.75 stars, Sorcery and Small Magics 4.5 stars and Glow of the Everflame 4.5 stars
My reading wrap up for November. It was a great month for me, helped by a binge read of the Spark of the Everflame series.
I love reading everyone's wrap ups but I find it impossible to come up with my top ten. Either I want to include all of the books or I start questioning my ratings
I listened to the trilogy on audio a few months ago and loved it. Enjoy!
I'd love to be added. It's difficult to pick a fave audiobook but I'm currently loving JD Kirk's DCI Logan series.
I can't remember exactly but I think it was after book 4 or 5 which is probably a bit too late. There are some characters who pop up in the last 2 or 3 books who are introduced in the short stories so would recommend reading before you get to them
Did you know that the average author salary is ยฃ7,000 per year in the UK? Minimum wage is ยฃ22,368.06 per year ๐ณ I talk about this is in my latest Substack article which is all about book piracy ๐ดโโ ๏ธ open.substack.com/pub/nadinema...
Ooh no I didn't. I guess I do really need to read it now
I do own most of them and it will be fab to read a series that's actually finished. I've had a run of reading series where the last book isn't out yet and it's so frustrating
My TBR is out of control but yeah this sounds fab so I guess I'm adding it.
I read Shatter Me a few years ago, loved it, then didn't read any further in the series. Maybe it's time for a re read and a series binge
This terrified me when I was a child. I had literal nightmares about the Wheelers. Have never watched it since.
Still deciding what's up next. I'm v much a mood reader and I don't know what I'm in the mood for so I'm jumping around reading the first few chapters of lots of books hoping something grabs me.
Ooh I received this as my November subscription book from Bert's. It sounded intriguing but reading your review I'm even more excited about it. May dive into it next
What is this word "organise"? My books are mostly on shelves, with the rest in random piles around the house. I somewhat group them in terms of this pile I intend to read soon etc but there's no real order or system other than chaos
Unfortunately where I am in Scotland it's pretty much impossible to see a GP so I can understand a level of frustration but this is just nonsense.
I haven't watched last night yet but I'm v surprised by who went. Didn't expect them to be in the dance off at all.
Shelf of books with a hardcover edition of Sorcery and Small Magics at the front
Had a much needed reading day getting lost in the absolutely wonderful Sorcery and Small Magics by Maiga Doocy. Fell in love with the world and the characters. I need book 2 now.๐๐
Not really but I do feel a bit bad if it turns out I don't. If it's for a blog tour I'll ask to do something other than a review.
Picture shows a hardback copy of the Fairyloot edition with foiled character art on the hardcover
We have snow this morning so I'm curled up on the couch with a cup of tea and a scone reading Sorcery and Small Magics by Maiga Doocy

Hi, feeling the pressure of a first post here so will just start as I mean to go on with two of my favourite things
I'm midway through The Book of the Witching and really enjoying it.
