Thank you to the talented, dedicated women in our office and across our city.
Thank you to the talented, dedicated women in our office and across our city.
This is who leads.
This is who serves.
This is who builds a stronger Edmonton for everyone.
Today, on International Women’s Day, we’re celebrating the incredible women who make the Mayor’s Office run every day.
From shaping policy to supporting our communities, telling Edmonton’s story, and keeping the work of City Hall moving forward, this is who makes it happen.
Great to meet with @coreyhogan.ca this week!
We had a good conversation about Canada’s defence priorities and the important role agriculture plays in our communities and economy.
Congratulations FIND on 15 years!
Did you know that FIND is a social enterprise of Homeward Trust? Every donation, every purchase, and every shared story helps support people moving from homelessness into housing.

Budget react from @andrewknack.bsky.social — “I think, at the end of the day, this is something that municipalities have been clear about, the need for this. It’s the fact that everyone else is paying their full share in the province." #yeg #yegcc #ableg

Let us know in the comments:
▪️What would you like to see prioritized for our city?
▪️Which areas would you like Council and I to focus on?
Your feedback will us build a stronger Edmonton.
As we prepare for the four-year budget, I want to hear directly from you about the direction the City should take for future spending.
Tomorrow, City Council will begin branch presentations. These sessions offer Edmontonians a clearer picture of how the City allocates funding across programs and services.
Happy Holi🎨✨
Wishing everyone celebrating, a vibrant and joyful festival of colours!
This is how we will build a stronger Edmonton, together!
▪️Administration will align work plans and reporting to demonstrate progress on each priority and adherence to the guiding principles.
▪️Edmontonians can expect clearer alignment between Council direction, city investments, and measurable outcomes.
This means:
▪️ These priorities will be our foundation to frame decision-making for the four-year budget.
▪️City Council will use these priorities to shape policy direction and service planning.
These priorities and guiding principles will keep Council and administration focused on strengthening our economy, managing growth responsibly, delivering high‑quality services, and keeping communities safe, all while ensuring fiscal responsibility, affordability, and relationship‑driven approaches,
When we set clear priorities, we make better decisions.
That’s why Council and I voted to adopt the Edmonton City Council Strategic Priorities and accompanying Guiding Principles.
I commend our partners at the Edmonton branches of the Ukrainian Canadian Congress and the Ukrainian National Youth Federation for organizing yesterday's vigil and supporting community members during this difficult time.
Though we wish the circumstances were different, we’re honoured to be learning from and supporting our Ukrainians neighbours.
The City of Edmonton stands with Ukraine. We will continue to welcome refugees and newcomers and the keep the legacy of being a home to a vibrant Ukrainian community.
A group of people stand in front of a Ukrainian flag, holding signs with years from 2014 to 2025. They are gathered outside the Alberta Legislature Building, and a small stage has a screen displaying a candle. In front, a map outline of Ukraine is made with lit candles.
Yesterday marked four years since the start of the Russia-Ukraine war.
Over these four long years, many Ukrainians have lost their lives, and even more have been displaced from their homes since Russia’s unprovoked invasion.
I look forward to working alongside Minister Olszewski and Minister Anandasangaree to help build a safer and more vibrant Edmonton.
Reducing crime and finding long term solutions requires collaboration. We are grateful to have Minister Anandasangaree and the federal government as willing partners, ready to help us implement proactive and sustainable solutions to keep our communities safe.
More specifically, we spoke about the need to expedite bail reform legislation and the need for integrated release plans and programs to reduce recidivism. Given Edmonton’s high concentration of correction facilities, support for these programs is vital to help us improve public safety.
While in Ottawa earlier this month, Minister Olszewski and I discussed opportunities for the Government of Canada to partner with us to improve public safety and vibrancy in our city.
The Honourable Eleanor Olszewski, MP for Edmonton Centre, and the Honourable Gary Anandasangaree, Canada’s Minister of Public Safety, stand alongside Mayor Knack (in the middle) in front of flags representing Canada and the Royal Canadian Mounted Police. They are all wearing formal business attire.
Public safety is a key priority for Edmonton.
That’s why my conversation with the Honourable Eleanor Olszewski, MP for Edmonton Centre, and the Honourable Gary Anandasangaree, Canada’s Minister of Public Safety, focused on ways to reduce crime and safety concerns in the City of Edmonton.
Edmonton is a home for everyone and the diversity our city offers only makes us stronger.
Thank you to the International and Heritage Languages Association for hosting today’s event. Also, thank you to everyone who attended and shared the beauty of their unique cultures
Earlier today, I connected with Edmontonians from multicultural communities in celebration of International Mother Language Day.
Thank you to Edmonton Global, University of Alberta, NAIT, Alberta's Industrial Heartland Association and Edmonton International Airport for your leadership and support on this achievement.
We are building a stronger Edmonton and Canada, together!
