Why is it that in every election, you do not have to convince Black voters on who is the best candidate for the country?

But white people especially need their hands held and their egos stroked in order to do the right thing. And never do because the candidate didn't center their lame asses.

Yes, folks have agency & the authoritarians are to blame for DOGE, this illegal war, Hegseths' fundamentalist Crusader nonsense about the country & war, etc. But also, none of this stuff happens if we haven't encouraged 50 years of "The Troops are The Only Public Employees Who Matter" 24/7/365.

Dark money group offers influencers $1,500 for posts attacking Chicago Democratic primary candidate Progressive House candidate Kat Abughazaleh told MS NOW the secretive campaign is “filled with false and defamatory claims.”

HOLY SHIT.

A dark money group, hidden behind a bunch of shell companies, is paying influencers thousands of dollars PER POST to attack @katmabu.bsky.social on social media a month before her election.

Thank you to the people who declined the money and went forward with this. So who's behind this?

As I said elsewhere: more people were protesting against the war in authoritarian Russia than in democratic America. Americans don't care what their military does to brown people. They care about sports, culture wars, and fuel prices.

Honestly the US not bothering to try because they just assumed they couldn’t be eliminated is perfect writing, no notes

I see people making the point that if this keeps going, we won't have a nation.

But if we have a system incapable of bringing criminals to justice for their criminal acts, without fear or favor, then we ALREADY don't have a nation.

This is the Israeli playbook from Gaza (and Putin's in Ukraine for that matter) and it is ultra-disturbing to see the US carry out repeated attacks on civilian infrastructure. It simply does not serve a military purpose.

I just want to go on record and say that you people are crazy if you think only 6 American soldiers have died in this conflict. It's pointless to expect the truth from mainstream media about anything much less this war of preference/choice.
America is not angry enough yet for me.

David Zaslav is doing to Hollywood what Donald Trump did to America. Huge job losses, the rapid destruction of the middle class, majority of people now living paycheck to paycheck, and all so they can further enrich themselves. The problem is the billionaires, not the working class.

Another member of the chat, William Bejerano — who tried to start a pro-life group at Miami Dade College — was the primary user of the n-word in the group. At one point, he posted a block of text calling for dozens of acts of extreme violence against Black people, who he referred to using the n-word, including crucifying, beheading and dissecting people. Bejerano hung up the phone when reached by the Herald.

Dariel Gonzalez, the College Republicans’ recruitment chairman at the time, responded in the chat: “How edgy.” “Ew you had colored professors?!” Gonzalez wrote at another point. “I reguse [sic] to be indoctrinated by the coloreds.” He told the group he used the term “colored” because, “I was told we cant say black anymore.” A couple days later, he added: “Avoid the coloreds like the plague.” He did not respond to a request for comment. The group chat members — which included some women — also frequently discussed sex, sometimes describing women as “whores” and at one point using the k-word, a slur for Jewish people, to describe women they avoid.

Fun fact, fox news once tried to sic a mob on me because I wrote that being hispanic didn’t mean you couldn’t be a white supremacist, because race is subjective and many hispanics identify as white. Completely unrelated here’s how some Miami Republicans talk in private

voters do in fact have choices and agency, as do people in media. chuck schumer sucks in a lot of ways, but the obsession with white guys with no experience and a beard is not his fault.

progressives had other options; it's a big state.

Yes voters are to blame seeing as how voters put every single one of these folks into power. We hold blame here. Without us, these folks wouldn’t have the control they do. It’s easy to blame those in power, yet who gave them that power if not the voters? That’s how the system works.

The key component that seems to be missing with Platner is, you know, him actually changing. He went on an antisemitic podcast like two weeks ago.

In WhatsApp conversations leaked to the Miami Herald, participants used variations of the n-word more than 400 times, regularly described women as "whores," used slurs to talk about Jewish and gay people and mused about Hitler's politics.

Nah. This is a kind of bad take. This guy trips and falls backwards and the guy gets up, sees the kid got it, and attempts to go back to his seat. The kid was taught empathy and gives the man the ball seeing how much effort he went through. For all we know, that guy grew up never getting a ball.
