The Arizona Starter Homes Act is back! The bill would preclude cities from various mandates that increase housing costs, without any health or safety basis, including large minimum lot sizes, unworkable setbacks, and costly design mandates.
By allowing a variety of missing middle housing types in traditionally single-family only neighborhoods, developers in Portland are now able to produce housing to meet varied demands. These 2-bed, 2-bath townhomes sold for $350,000, $200,000 less than the median 1F price.
