Teba 1330, Douglas throwing 'The Bruce's heart' at the forces of Muhammed IV. Moors didn't understand heraldry & ganged up on Sinclair instead of Douglas because he had a Black Cross surcoat. They were use to fighting knights with Red or White crosses. Douglas had stars!

Friday 13th unlucky for some as this was when in 1307 the King of France ordered the arrest all Knights Templar & the Grand Master Jacques de Molay. King Philip was heavily in debt to the Templars who had been bankers to the French crown for two hundred years. He erased his debt.

Hatton Castle an L-Plan Keep held by the Lauder family. Seized by the Black Douglases. King James II of Scots besieged it in 1452 with a hired cannon and had a Sow built. He even had to hire 'Salatis' Sallets helmets for the duration of the siege.
