wonderful Takashi!! Congrats to you and your team!
Another announcement! 📣 Our work on hybrid incompatibility in cohesin protection in 🐭oocytes is published!! Congrats Warif El Yakoubi and Eddie Pan!!🎉 We found hybrids with cohesion errors in two distinct genus.

We built a targeted protein degradation–based system to mimic reproductive age-related aneuploidy in young eggs - revealing how chromosome errors associated with female infertility arise with age. 🧬✨
With @jiyeonleem.bsky.social and our team at Yale MCDB.

We hire!
The CytoMorpho Lab is looking for an engineer with a background in cell and molecular biology to join our team in Paris. This is a 18-month contract position, but we're open to exploring long-term opportunities.

Thank you for having me, I had a wonderful visit!!
True that Manuel! thanks for calling this out.
Congratulations Aaron, such great news!!

*chromosome arm-specific removal of REC8
We built an experimental system for manipulation of oocyte chromosome cohesion using PROTACs, mimicking within 1.5 hrs chromosomal abnormalities that naturally arise over years to decades. BONUS: we visualized by live imaging chromosome arm-specific and centromeric retention of REC8 during anaphase!
Some good news during these difficult times. Please check out our new preprint. We built a new tool to probe the origins of high oocyte aneuploidy rates at advanced female reproductive ages. This NIH funded work was led by a fantastic postdoc in the lab, Jiyeon Leem. www.biorxiv.org/content/10.1...
Many congratulations Sam! Wonderful news🥳
Sharing some oocyte spindle love-an image taken by PhD student Phia Maddocks. This beautiful work is supported by our NIH funding. Without this funding, we cannot understand the complexities of fertility genetics. With declining fertility rates, this work is essential to human health.
This is couple of years old since I rarely have time to sit at a scope these days but I was inspired by the end of year #FluorescenceFriday posts on hear and thought I should drop on y’all my Eye of Sauron, aka a mouse oocyte containing nuclear actin filaments #actin #meiosis #oocytes
Happy to see this out before the end of the year. Fantastic work by Lily Wang with help from our wonderful technologists in the Discovery Platform Proteomics Core managed by Christos Spanos. Great publishing experience @embojournal.bsky.social www.embopress.org/doi/full/10....
Chromosome segregation errors are common in the early stages of human embryonic development. Read here our open access commentary on three recent studies of spindle architecture and positioning features that
could provide insights into why early embryos are predisposed to aneuploidy.
