If you're doomscrolling, guess what? So far there are 51 kākāpō chicks hatched and thriving this season, the same number of birds as we had in TOTAL in the 90s! Only one chick has died and there are still fertile eggs waiting to hatch!

You, an individual, cannot "fix" the whole world. You can act at the scale of your life. You should act at the scale of your life.
Like Toni Morrison said, “I would like my work to do two things: be as demanding and sophisticated as I want it to be, and at the same time be accessible in a sort of emotional way to lots of people, just like jazz. That's a hard task. But that's what I want to do.”
“There’s no single answer that will solve all our future problems. There’s no magic bullet. Instead there are thousands of answers—at least. You can be one of them if you choose to be.”
― Octavia E. Butler, A Few Rules for Predicting the Future: An Essay
"The world isn’t ending. A world is ending. Our job is to midwife the next one."
“Part of being a revolutionary is creating a vision that is more humane. That is more fun, too. That is more loving. It's really working to create something beautiful."
— Assata Shakur

Race studies is some of the most disrespected scholarship in the academy. Yet, as Stuart Hall said, “I am convinced that no intellectual worth his or her salt… can afford to turn dispassionate eyes away from the problems of race and ethnicity that beset our world.”
Fuck Bali! Roasted one of my friends at a party on Friday night, after he was sharing his holiday plans to go to Indonesia. This bitch knows there's a fucking genocide in West Papua and still doesn't give a fuck. Bitch got uncomfortable and left. I DGAF!! Be uncomfortable bitch!! #FreeaWestPapua
Times are definitely difficult but I do hope some of you take at least a few hours to enjoy something over the weekend. It's really important in order to stay in the struggle.
Your wellness routine should include taking precautions to avoid multiple covid infections that damage your immune system, hope that helps. 🌟💕
and a cat on my lap!
all I’ve got ahead of me today is a new book and fresh produce from the growers market hell yea
WHAT? WE ARE SHADOWBANNED ON TWITTER AND HAVE ONLY A LITTLE OVER A THOUSAND FOLLOWERS HERE! SOMETHING HAS TO CHANGE!!! 😒

(and in saying this, overall it’s pretty damn polished if I do say so myself lol)
there’s a few minor errors in my PhD and I love them. It makes the work feel so human and reflects how messy and REAL the whole experience was. I, Hana, the human, wrote that 😍
I was stoked because it was my partners project and I couldn’t handle it either. shot neighbour ! 🤣
we had our lovely neighbour (very nicely) complain that our bokashi compost bin was smelling STRONG all the way in her bedroom lol. the things we do for our kai and our soil 😅
I wish I could be there with her but she is giving me a play by play over texts lol
my māmā is at WIPCE 2025! her first ever conference, she is having the best time. it’s also so cool for her to get a sense of the Indigenous academic spaces and voices that radicalised me.
This is Alice's friend Sandy Ho, posting. Per Alice's wishes, this message is being shared at the time of her passing. Hi everyone, it looks like I ran out of time. I have so many dreams that I wanted to fulfill and plans to create new stories for you. There are a few in progress that might come to fruition in a few years if things work out. I did not ever imagine I would live to this age and end up a writer, editor, activist, and more. As a kid riddled with insecurity and internalized ableism, I could not see a path forward. It was thanks to friendships and some great teachers who believed in me that I was able to fight my way out of miserable situations into a place where I finally felt comfortable in my skin. We need more stories about us and our culture. You all, we all, deserve the everything and more in such a hostile, ableist environment. Our wisdom is incisive and unflinching. I'm honored to be your ancestor and believe disabled oracles like us will light the way to the future. Don't let the bastards grind you down. I love you all.
💔 Alice Wong’s last words: “Don’t let the bastards grind you down.”
We can never thank Alice enough for fighting all the good fights and especially all the hard fights. We all learned so much from your brilliance, your courage, and your indefatigable leadership. We will never forget you.
Alice Wong, Presente. Thank you for everything.

Our beloved Alice Wong has joined the ancestors. It was one of the great honors of my life to call Alice my friend, co-author & co-conspirator. She was a true genius, a force of nature the likes of which the world has never seen before. I love you, Alice, and am equal parts grateful and devastated
