aaaahhh!! idk if it’s helpful but i’m usually moved to draw bg fanart when looking at the lively inkwork in 70s pulp comics and 90s jrpg character designs lol.. n e way this portrait is looking sick thus far!!! the bold shape of the headband… that’s vintage babes 🍷

this expression REALLY captures the BG portrait vibe more than i think i could!! like that could be an actor from Xena lol. you could commit to “jankier” eyes to be less sleek. drawing them with the energy of form, allowing them to be be ‘sisters, not twins’.
