So @gadgetoid.com , how easy do you reckon it would be to separate the electronics and screen from the stand of a Presto, and then incorporate that into a custom front-panel for a Steam Machine?

That's an interesting control board there! And USB C power? Ooooh!
Ah that's a shame! I've been waiting for them to be released ever since Pimoroni started shipping products with them. Soon, hopefully...
Does the RM2 adapter imply a publicly available source of RM2 modules? ๐
I'm curious about that, because it just kind of appeared one day: what was the deal with PimoroniI2C? Did the standard interface not do something you wanted?
Woo! Thank you! More parts for the machine! I'm eyeing up that Yukon wireless modules instead of a serial cable, and maybe some RGB LEDs to show the DNA as it is detected...
It needs a LOT of work. The software has some bugs, e.g. It can't distinguish several bricks of the same colour. That said, real sequencing machines have that problem too, so I'm tempted not to fix that one...
#yarrbooty Inspired by others, I've been making a Lego DNA sequencer. A Yukon drives a stepper motor which moves a stick of bricks past a colour sensor. The data is sent to a PC over serial, which converts it to a DNA seq for analysis. This is not entirely unlike real Nanopore DNA sequencing.
