I can't speak for everyone on the team, but WCK has been doing some great work.
Thanks for asking. We do not.
Ogami's default pose.
Ogami smiling.
Ogami blushing.
Sakura Wars 2 contains a post-game mode called Long Day that contains a bunch of cool bonus content. One of the small extras I enjoyed was the ability to watch flashbacks of certain scenes through the perspective of the heroines. These include rare sprites of Ogami that you donβt see anywhere else.
Here's the excellent Sakura Wars 2, which is newly translated into English for the first time by a team including @noahsteam.bsky.social, and a bit about how it (and Sakura Wars in general) was doomed from the start outside of Japan, given the way Sega of America worked and the Saturn's low sales.
Thanks to everyone that has been submitting issues with the Sakura Wars 2 patch to our Google form. However, we've been having some trouble replicating the bugs that are being reported. If possible, please resubmit your issue and also provide a link to your save file. Thank you.
Thank you! Happy to see you finished and enjoyed the game. And yes, it was a nightmare π¬ but was fun working with the team to put it together
Finished Sakura Wars 2: Thou Shalt Not Die
A perfect sequel in practically every way. They took every aspect of the first game that worked and improved upon it, while also simultaneously making some of the weaker aspects of the first game even better. Absolutely fantastic game. Longish thread:
So overall, Sakura Wars 2 is a quintessential example of a perfect sequel. It's just genuinely such an improvement over the first game in every way and it's a near perfect game in my book honestly. VERY VERY great stuff and I highly recommend both this and the first game!
Also shoutouts to the translation team! They did a DAMN good job on this game that I imagine was a fucking nightmare to program and get functioning in a modded state lmao. There's so much love poured into the translation, dare I say as much as was put into the game by the devs.
you have to repost shit like this, because just talking about it makes you sound like an insane conspiracy theorist parroting lies they read on facebook. Like if I told someone this happened, they'd roll their eyes like I was a freak and it'd damage any credibility I had left. you know?

This is fascinating. Thank you for sharing!

If youβve run into any issues while playing our patch for Sakura Wars 2, please leave a comment below or submit a report on our Google form (link below). We're hoping to address all these problems in a future update. Thank you for your help!
Thank you for reaching out and writing this up @wes.readonlymemo.com. For anyone interested in finding out a bit about how the Sakura Wars patches came to be, check this out!
Orihime Soletta and Reni MilchstraΓe from Sakura Taisen 2, in their European Star Division uniforms.
Heey, Sakura Wars 2 got a fan translation out now!
And that's when I realized I never actually drawn Orihime before. Or Reni for a very long time so #art
Saroo has issues playing the game in general. Even the Japanese version doesnβt work properly with saroo.

How to transfer your Sakura Wars 1 save to Sakura Wars 2 if you are playing the game on Mednafen: 1.) First start SW2 so that Mednafen generates save files for it (just go to the title screen and then close the emulator). The save files should be in the βsavβ folder in Mednafenβs directory. 2.) Make a copy of your SW1 saves (the bcr, bkr, and smpc files) and rename them to the same title as your newly made SW2 saves. 3.) Then simply delete your old SW2 save files and replace them with your newly renamed SW1 files. 4.) Youβll know your save transfer was successful if Yoneda talks about SW1βs ending in the first scene (after you select which heroine Ogami has a special attachment to).
I was recently asked how you transfer your Sakura Wars 1 save to Sakura Wars 2 on an emulator. So here are some detailed instructions if you are playing the game on Mednafen (which is what we primarily used while testing):
SHE'S SPEAKING IN ENGLISH, IT'S BEAUTIFUL!!! π₯Ή
I donβt have a steam deck, but assuming that can play retro arch, you should be able to play this using the beetle core.
Should also note that this patch was released for two languages: English and Portuguese π
If you can't tell by the credits, these projects are a ton of work by talented, passionate people. And we're lucky they're willing to put in the time. Chatted with Sakura Wars 2's project lead @noahsteam.bsky.social and others about this last summer, even.

I served as the lead editor on SW2 and it was the most challenging project I've ever been a part of. Translating something of this scale was only possible thanks to all the time and talent each person poured into this patch. So make sure to thank everyone for their awesome work!
The Sakura Wars 2 translation is out!!
This project first began almost 4 years ago and now it is finally available for everyone to experience. Sakura Wars is a very special series to me and I'm really excited to see what people think of the game and our work. Hope you enjoy it!
Finally, thank you all for patiently waiting and Sega for creating such an amazing game. What are you still doing reading this read? Go play the game!
x.com/TheOpponent provided the much improved font sheet that was used in this patch compared to SW1. Also thank you for tackling image edits! Thank you x.com/SegaSaturnDave for helping out with Tycoon minigame!
Thank you @cj-iwakura.bsky.social for testing out this whole game! Thanks to him, you all can be assured that the game is completely playable on Saturn using the Satiator! @burntends.bsky.social for giving me the push I needed to get this project going in its early days and helping out with edits!
Dyn0mutt, @justjoqu.bsky.social for providing edits of the more complicated images in this game. Chapter screens, minigames, loading screens, and so many other parts of the game would have looked terrible without these two!
x.com/natsume__38, Neko, and x.com/MatatabiMits... jumping on and helping to translate a whole lot of text back when we were struggling to gain momentum! We would've been stuck in the mud without your help!
