Last Friday, Minneapolis rallied for the removal of Immigrations and Customs Enforcement from Minnesota. I am a progressive DFL candidate for Minnesota Governor who will stand up to Donald Trump and stand up for immigrant communities

We owe a debt of gratitude to the work of everyday people doing the most important jobs for each other. We are tasked with continuing the legacy of the labor movement to ensure there is dignity and financial security for the working class. Ignoring workers is not an option.

We are the stewards of our land and waters. Minnesota’s namesake, Mni Sota, means land of sky-tinted waters. Let’s keep it that way.

Without strong support in the public, private, and nonprofit sectors, Minnesota neglects to lead in our economy. Minnesota will invest in systems that bring us quality jobs with higher wages and benefits, especially investments in green energy and worker cooperatives across all industries.

Minnesotans deserve to be healthy and nourished by our food and medical systems. Minnesotans cannot tolerate when the federal government withholds aid as punishment; it is cruel and wrong.

Every individual deserves a place to call home. We need to enact an eviction moratorium for the duration of ICE’s occupation. We need investments in long-term housing that is stable and affordable; however, building housing means nothing if we don’t limit the amount of housing organizations can buy.

Renee Good, Keith Porter, and Alex Pretti should still be alive. I will use the personnel of the MN State Patrol and National Guard to disrupt ICE activity to prevent any more deaths at the hands of ICE.
