This strikes me as subsidizing/rewarding gas guzzlers and big oil when we should encourage the use of less fossil fuel intensive modes of transportation and less unnecessary travel. IMO we need to accept that we're now engaged in several wars - abroad, for the soul of our nation, and for our planet.
