The song sums up the plot of Delicious in Dungeon so well, it's definitely hard to beat.

I highly recommend people read @chuckwendig.bsky.social's response to that open letter to SFWA about AI that's making the rounds. Chuck hits it out of the ballpark with this essay.

1) Aliette is correct, and this shit is dramatic in its scope.

2) Amazon tried to sell me a squeegee when I was searching for a Raclette machine yesterday, and that alone should be reason enough to stop trusting any AI translation right now.

Thread: As a translator myself, I echo everything Aliette says. I have also noticed longterm customers suddenly no longer calling, because somewhere there is a machine translation system that is cheaper, even if its output is worse.

I see we've reached the "The president is walking around on the roof while ranting about crazy bullshit and everyone will pretend this is totally normal" phase of the fall of America.

Never forget and never forgive the people who voted for this demented, tyrannical, confused, cruel, evil, idiot.

So happy to see this in paperback!

An awesome piece of writing, with more science things-I-shoulda-known than you can shake a space elevator at.

This was a super fun work to get to have an early look at, and even contribute to ever so slightly on the Space Law front!

EU regulator green lights an injectable HIV drug that could help stop transmission LONDON (AP) β€” The European Medicines Agency has recommended authorizing a twice-yearly injectable drug aimed at preventing HIV, which scientists say could help end the virus' transmission.

Maybe it's just what comes across my particular desk, but seems like it should be a bigger deal that both the EU and the US have approved a kind of HIV vaccine--a shot that provides 99% protection for 6 months--and it's going to be produced royalty-free in 120 poor nations w/ high HIV rates.
