The EU continues to hold Iran accountable. Today, EU Member States ambassadors approved new sanctions targeting 19 regime officials and entities responsible for serious human rights violations. As the Iran war continues, the EU will protect its interests and pursue those responsible for domestic repression. It also sends a message to Tehran that Iran’s future cannot be built on repression.
You can't make this up. The EU is sanctioning Iran after it has been victimized by EU allies the US and Israel in an illegal and genocidal war of aggression.
And they are congratulating themselves for it.
MP Richard Burgon asks the MoD whether it can approve or refuse the US striking individual targets in Iran.
The MoD doesn't answer directly. Like so much else concerning the use of UK bases, it's unclear and we're not allowed to know.

id like to point out that health secretaries are not supposed to be dictating what medications or treatments are available on the nhs.
that's not actually part of wes streeting's job. he has emergency powers to intervene. he's not supposed to be abusing that power to ban treatments he doesn't like.

How Thatcherite do you have to be, for your whole industrial policy to boil down to:
1. Ask some spivs how much they're investing in your country
2. Don't check anything
3. Announce whatever number they said
...
5. Profit
Tommy Robinson is writing for Jerusalem Post, and that makes some people uncomfortable - opinion When journalism abandons the debate over ideas and focuses instead on policing who is permitted to speak, the search for truth quietly gives way to the enforcement of acceptable opinion. Tommy Robinson wears a UTK logo ("Unite The Kingdom") on his clothes as he is seen at a rally in solidarity with protesters in Iran on January 11, 2026 in London, England.

Robinson had previously tried to address “the Jewish Question” in a 2022 article which he deleted shortly afterwards. He divided the Jews into two types – acceptable ones and disreputable ones. He particularly had it in for the Anti-Defamation League – in his eyes a cesspit of Jewish liberalism and subversion internationally.
HAHAHAHAHAHAHA
They're platforming an ACTUAL NAZI NOW
I'm laughing to keep from screaming
It depends if you're using the US or international definition of "middle class."
hitting the same target twice is for killing emergency responders, and for making people afraid to help those who have been injured or maimed in a previous strike
the US did this to a schoolhouse

Police turned them around and marched them back the way they came.
Despite using batons and horses against antifascists, people held their ground and the fascists did not pass.

Ye gods, this is some hateful, made up bullshit.
I expect evil from the Home Office, but this specific flavour of evil is still kind of shocking
Dear Shabana, I notice today that you referred to me in your speech on immigration at the IPPR think tank. You said: “A party leader should not be on the beaches of France encouraging people to make a perilous crossing on small boats.” I suppose I shouldn’t be surprised especially after the hateful Labour campaign in Gorton and Denton, but this is just the latest in a string of lies peddled by a discredited Government who intentionally fan the flames of racism and division. When I went to Calais, I was not there to encourage people to travel to the UK. I was there to see at first hand the suffering your Government and successive Governments have done in demonising migrants in a pathetic bid to pander to the base instincts of Reform and the flawed strategy of Morgan McSweeney. As you will know, if you even bothered to research my visit instead of taking Reform talking points, I was there to witness the brutality of families living in tents in freezing temperatures. I filled water tanks and picked up litter. What that visit did do is confirm my belief that if we are to smash the boat gangs and stop the boats, we need to offer safer and managed routes for migrants to come to this country. Showing compassion as a politician is not a crime. In fact, we need to see much more of it. It reminded me of a young MP who in October 2015 spent three days in Lesbos helping migrants fleeing war-torn Syria. She posted videos on X, talked about handing out water and croissants to refugees and food parcels. When she returned to the UK, she wrote a very moving piece in the New Statesman. She said “we have to work with our European partners and create new, safe, and legal routes for refugees to get to Europe. We cannot abandon them to their fate, left as prey for smugglers whilst risking death on the seas.” She said “maybe we can make ourselves feel better by saying no-one is making them get on the boats. And again, the Home Secretary is not entirely wrong when …
Dear Shabana,
Let's clear some things up around migration and remember we're talking about people's lives.
There’s been a murder…
And Cricket if you see this...you were always a good boy.
When the Prime Minister spreads lies about people - there are consequences.
He's made some outrageous smears. It's debasing our politics.
Anything to try to quieten dissent about the US and Israel starting an illegal war.

Andrew McDonald EXC: Inside Morgan McSweeney's cosy leaving drinks last night - Acc to multiple witnesses Keir Starmer, in a speech to room full of Labour right types, said that McSweeney is not only one of the best political strategists in the country, "but in the entire world" — In gushing speech PM also said McSweeney had "plan, strategy and foresight" to change Labour — McSweeney's speech brought several of his allies to tears - Attendees included several cabinet ministers from the Labour right (no Streeting or Mahmood, though their SpAds went).
The best political strategist in the world looked out at his party hovering around joint 3rd in the polls with the least popular pm in recent history, and he wept, for there were no worlds left to conquer

Starmer backing the false claim at PMQs that the Deputy Leader of the Greens protested in support of the Ayatollah should really be a bigger deal imo
