Forest delight.
Forest delight.
SΓΆnnebergen nature reserve. Definite maritime rain forest vibes.
I have been Professor Emerita since March 1. I have been travelling, playing table tennis and only thinking about research in short bursts. But I think I will get back to it now that autumn is coming. Chalmers commisioned a journalist to write an article about me.

Iron age, I meant.
Rocks, heather and lichen at Pilane sculpture park and stone age burial ground.
The magic of the macro lens. New worlds open up! The first two are "chokladblommar", cosmos atrosanguineus -- what a great Latin name! The third one is my geranium.
One of my seaside sitting spots.
First fun with the macro lens in the forest, and then a blast of colour on an different scale. So nice to be out.
Lichen in copper beech, and another of the lovely copper beeches at NÀÀs Slott.
Lovely lichen by the sea and in trees on my usual walk. I enjoyed watching the terns dive too. Living by the sea is a delight.
Lichen on rocks right by the sea here on the Kattegat at on of my βsitting by the seaβ spots.

These tiny yellow mushrooms caught my eye. Chesterfield Gorge, New Hampshire.

More lichen from a windswept mountain top, this time Mount Battie in Camden, Maine.
Trees, lichen, colour
More moss and lichen in Acadia NP

Misty, maritime Maine
Scones with lemon curd in the sun. Hard to beat.
Belvedere House itself can be glimpsed behind the dancing trees. It is being renovated so we could not see the inside. But the garden was glorious!!
Happy World Table Tennis Day!
In Sligo, there is amazing scenery pretty much wherever you turn. This is across from the devils' chimney waterfall. It would be even better if there were native trees on the slopes where the sheep currently are.
A magfificent tree
Excellent trees and lichens at Belvedere House near Mullingar. Definitely worth another visit.
