This is hilarious!! Subservience and shoe size…someone could do their entire thesis on this and what it says about some “people”.

Yeah, they like to keep the rest of us in darkness 😉

PS really like the various reflections and shades on that building.

“The UK's official climate adviser said the cost of meeting net zero is less than A SINGLE (my CAPS) fossil fuel price shock. £4 billion of additional spending per year to 2050 is required to stay on track for net zero, according to the Climate Change Committee.

It's no longer OK for you to sit in the house of Lords because your dad did.
But if your mate put you there?
That's fine.
Neither of these really feel like democracy to me.

Iranians living in UK tell Starmer that war will only strengthen Tehran regime Nazanin Zaghari-Ratcliffe among more than 100 signatories to letter urging PM not to get drawn further into the conflict

“Nobody can claim to want the end of the Islamic republic more than we do. But attacking the country in this way will have the opposite effect. It will entrench the authoritarians and give life to the fiction that has sustained them internally for decades:.. “ www.theguardian.com/world/2026/m...

Al Quds Day march banned after government approves Met request Organisers say it is a peaceful pro-Palestinian event but it has been criticised for representing the Iranian regime.

First major outright ban in UK of protest march since 2012.

One of the main reasons cited is the large size of the March...don't complain in future when they ban nationwide protests about war/cost of living/some authoritarian restriction of YOUR life.

Another step down the slippery slope...

Have you seen those #DWP ads that are everywhere at the moment where some life event happens to a woman*, & then a voice tells you if you don't notify the DWP, they will find you & fine you.

I HATE this govt.

*Both ads feature women.
In one, the start of a relationship.
In another, bereavement.

42 fires in listed or significant buildings. That really is a lot.

“punish” the trees and land…

Atalanta thrashed but really impressive how their fans stayed until the end to support and cheer their team. ✊

Despite this👇 and other speeches appealing to humanity and justice, only 10 Labour MPs voted against this!!
I guess orders and career come before humans for these empty vessels!

Really!? Tree trunks and orchards don’t just disappear completely if not watered for a few months. The ground is completely flat!

"Disappeared" is a passive word...destroyed and flattened are more appropate active words.

Kudos to Charlotte Nichols here and shame on the Labour front bench and Starmer for abusing the experience of rape victims to further decimate civil liberties.

Exactly. And they know there will be a tipping point when people cannot take anymore, but rather than try help people, the govt have been using a range of excuses to introduce bans and restrictions for protests.

Energy bills, mortgages and more: How the Iran war may affect your finances The conflict in the Middle East could raise the cost of petrol, household energy bills and even food.

I'll give you a clue without even reading it. EVERYFUCKINGTHING will go up, massively, immediately, but if it all ended tomorrow, none of it would down. Profiteering much? Never.

Definitely also applies beyond petrol, just easier to see at the pump. Supermarkets making record profits during a cost of living crisis!
We are definitely not all in this together…in a normal functioning society there would be massive protests about this…cannot go on indefinitely…

09.03.2026 19:56 👍 3 🔁 0 💬 1 📌 1

Prediction: 100%+ of oil price increase will be quickly passed on to motorists at the pump; when prices fall again, <75% reduction will reach motorists (and delayed).
Obvious? Yes but that does not make it less painful. Interesting how long the public can or will tolerate this profiteering model.

This smells just like the PPE contracts during the COVID pandemic, except this time the grifters' contracts will kill people by design and not just by neglect/incompetence.

Unfortunatley, in the UK things/people are only considered to have "value" if they make profit for corporations, so maintenance, planning and prevention are all neglected. Meanwhile, the real "value" are the beautiful buildings that we all love...

08.03.2026 23:43 👍 0 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0

Agree but it is not just about the day (when the firefighters put their lives at massive risk) but about the planning and prevention for this sort of event.

08.03.2026 23:31 👍 0 🔁 0 💬 1 📌 0

It just keeps happening in Glasgow - fires that then end up gutting entire buildings! I know these are old buildings but it really does not feel like lessons are being learned about how to deal with these (let alone how to stop them!)
