Cis people calling trans people brave feels like they're positioning the situation so when we are genocided and thousands of us are dead they can paint it as heroism instead of a fucked up/monstrous chapter of history where no one stopped the violent murder of vulnerable people.

What's also 'funny' is that translations are always going to be a simulacrum of the original anyway, no matter how much extra writing goes into it. Ideas never will translate one to one. Even broken literal translation. I've heard translation called a parody and it seems to fit the bill.
