An “assault weapons” ban is not only not common sense, but it’s fundamentally ignorant. It not only wouldn’t stop mass shootings, but could make them worse. They are not used in mass shootings because of a uniquely deadly capability, it’s cause they’re the popular, manly, readily available option.
An “assault weapon” ban is a fundamentally ignorant policy that not only wastes political capital but will not solve the issue of gun violence or mass shootings in any meaningful measure. Running on it would be a horrid misstep. Everything else I pretty much agree with though.
