We have made the BBC News today in relation to our campaign to improve access at #Hexham Station.
Several other organisations are also involved & have helped to secure this first step, such as our colleagues at @tvcrp.bsky.social as well as @julianvaughan.bsky.social
Please only ever use this crossing under the assistance and supervision of Northern staff however.
And if you cannot locate Ticket Office Staff for any reason, please ask any arriving service's Train Manager for assistance instead.
For passengers already on the Ticket Office side, just ask the on duty staff for help to manage the crossing for you under their supervision.
Or if you are on the other platform, there is a 'Bell' button on the wall near the bridge.

As part of our campaign with other groups for better access at #Hexham we've helped secure change:
Northern staff are on duty to provide assistance to #passengers from FIRST to LAST train of the day now, to assist anyone with need to use the 'barrow crossing'.

Sadly it's even WORSE again today, with 4 out of the first 5 #NorthernRailway trains from Carlisle to Newcastle CANCELLED this Christmas Eve daytime.
