Unpopular opinion, but a lot of this "doing it right" mentality is how we wind up with games all feeling the exact same.
Difficulty spikes, weird controls, ropey onboarding all of it critical to prevent games feeling like they're ground down and pumped out safe mush.

The ONLY problem with Dino Riders is that they had those guys with gun turrets on one side of a dimetrodon’s sail so that from one side enemies couldn’t see them, and then the dimetrodon would turn and BAM!
But they used this, their very best idea, in episode 1. There was no way to go but down.

Fresh is uploading 10 Spritzees (pink blob head things) to the GTS on the mobile version of Pokemon HOME. Most are unnamed, but one is called “Invisicola”.
Fresh is uploading 4 Squirtles, 4 Charmanders and 2 Bulbasaurs to the GTS via the mobile version of Pokemon HOME immediately after a Kanto-based event day.
Every time I upload a big pile of garbage to the GTS, I think about whether the research has been done relating Pokemon trades to broader open economies.
Then I forget about it and don’t bother searching.
