As a Wharton/Penn grad, I am reasonably confident its educators didnβt do a great job of instilling knowledge in a related prominent example.

When I lived in Helsinki in the 90's, I walked by the shul on one of my walks through the city. (Attending services isn't something I do anymore.)
I was -- surprised isn't the right word, maybe disheartened? -- to see that in a peaceful country that had only ~1100 Jews, they needed armed guards.
I have lived almost exclusively in cities since I left my parents' house 40 years ago and while there are parts of city living of which I am growing tired, it remains a good day to me when I do not not need to get in a car.
He was a hell of a writer and, by all accounts, person
OTOH hated this movie sooooo much. I was so angry walking out of the theatre that 30 years later I am responding to someone on Bluesky just to rant about it
(I am truly happy for you that it meant something to you)
Theyβre opposed because, famously, facts have a liberal bias.
Not directly on point, but I would argue ~1/3 of every software / SaaS agreement I draft is based on an effort to avoid the application of 100+ year old chattel laws.
Respect your opinion as I generally do, I disagree on this
Iβm personally skeptical of these models but their guardrails are made of tissue paper β people easily blow past them
After 20+ years of βcomputer know things goodβ, folks accept what the models say as valid & act accordingly
I initially found myself curious as to the precursors for this bad behavior β what was the discussion that led to it?
And then I thought, βwho cares why an asshole does what an asshole doesβ and blocked her.
IIRC, when you hit the memory limit on the Vic-20, it just stopped.
I grew up across the river from Wilkes-barre and would like to say (a) greetings to someone from my hometown!; (b) though I left decades ago, this story is entirely unsurprising; and (c) unfortunately, there are people who suck everywhere
Hope it works out for you

I thought it was βsave the cheerleader, save the worldβ?
Think about how much easier it would have been for ancient doomsayers if theyβd had emojis
Gosh, why wouldnβt I want to see whatβs happening on Bluesky while I eat lunch?
As Iβve said before, can you imagine any of the congressional leaders of the past ceding their authority to a president even of their own party? Cannon? OβNeill? Johnson?
Never in a million years.
But was it _that_ hill?

Fun unintended consequence: the state of Florida has very high property taxes, not least because it has no income tax
There is a plan to reduce those taxes for permanent residents, covering the shortfall with additional taxes on tourists . . .
. . . who are now staying away in droves
- scientist is late for work, forced to spend first day on the job cleaning up industrial accident.
Everything else aside, I remain astonished that someone named Zachary Levi, who looks and sounds like that, and who played the part of a Jewish doctor convincingly in Mrs. Maisel, is that particular brand of nut job.
As an old, I was alarmed to read a sentence ostensibly in English that I completely could not understand
After 20 minutes on urbandictionary, I have a sense of its meaning
Itβs still incredibly stupid
<adjusts tie Rodney Dangerfieldishly>
βHow do I get on that transplant list?β
I guess I deserve that
I still think theyβre a pretty neat idea
Me too, but Iβm also a guy who remembers FBI directors more than Olympics
Curious as to whether you searched fbi director 1980β or you had that stored in your poor, poor memory.
This made me very angry. I actually googled it twice to make sure I wasnβt spelling it wrong
I canβt get past the βstart each dayβ thing.
Iβm old enough to remember when TV went off the air each night, but that hasnβt been a thing for a looooooong time. When does the broadcast day start in 2026?
Absolutely. Nowadays, itβs the occasional corporate filing or Docusign that I have to do and it takes me longer than it should to remember what Iβm doing each time, but I will be damned if I ever let myself become incapable of doing any aspect of the work
In other words, even in a non-litigation practice, you should know how all the aspects of the job work
