I'm aware. it is the correct line though.
economic hub of colonial expansion, key point of collaboration between state, corporate, and organized labour (largely protecting white jobs from asians) toward the end of benefitting the settler class.
(this is all also applicable to texas)
it quickly developed economically, wanted greater independence. was the main driver toward confederation. also the main headquarters of colonial expansion. significant collaboration between private interests, the state, and organized labour toward benefitting the settler class
the issue isn't a lack of consciousness; it's that most people in the imperial core are labour aristocrats, and as such have labour aristocrat class consciousness
I think you're being too generous to "normal" people here. or maybe too restrictive in your definition of "normal." I think most people (at least in the imperial core) do not want to hear an intellectually honest assessment of where their ideas come from and where they inevitably lead.
to some extent it was necessary to use nazi germany as the archetypal fascist state because it's the only one that americans reliably disapprove of. but it also obscured the fact that america was hitler's model. arguably, the first fascist state was either california or ontario
I recommend looking into hot cargo. I will not elaborate on it much here.
I want to say Measure for Measure or Othello. but in my heart I know it's Midsummer Night's Dream
no, this time the lie was "this attempt at regime change inside the country was totally not done by Mossad/the CIA"
there can be a line between them. decolonial revolutions can become socialist revolutions, but they don't necessarily. we should support decolonization, toward the complete destruction of the US (and other settler states).
oh there will absolutely have to be a social revolution. it will just be largely decolonial rather than socialist, and will almost certainly involve balkanizing. the three main groups in the US are:
top 10%
middle 50%
bottom 40%
we need to focus mostly on the last group
incorrect. again: most americans are LA. they're too comfortable for that to happen. that is not going to change without decolonization.
you're also incorrect about the Russian empire. it had some capitalist characteristics, but it was essentially a feudal agrarian society, exploited by europe
yeah I know. there isn't a legitimate non-opportunist socialist party in the US. they're all run by LA with LA consciousness
in order for a communist revolution to happen in the US, it will have to be decolonized
trans and youth, like black/indigenous communities, tend to be more heavily lumpenized

he doesn't call it labour aristocracy here, but it's very clearly what he's talking about
yes they are. for most americans, things will have to get a whole lot worse before they are willing to revolt. the populations that we need to focus on organizing are lumpenproletariat, black and indigenous communities, and migrant workers.
no, it's mostly because people here are still too comfortable; and they know on some level that they benefit from the imperial plunder. you know, the defining aspect of LA
I know they're "not just people who are paid well"; you just engaged with a strawman instead of what I actually said
the big issue with Sakai's work is that LA is also observable in Europe, which means it can't be exclusive to settler societies. Marx observed it re: England and Ireland
sakai isn't the only person who wrote about LA. please don't pretend he's the strongest source for what I'm talking about
it's not possible until the working class in the core can no longer be bribed with imperial spoils. meaning it's not possible until the colonies liberate themselves
the LA is the portion of the working class that receives a portion of the spoils from imperial plunder; generally in the form of inflated wages and benefits such as pensions. that is most people in the imperial core.
a communist revolution is not currently possible in the core; people are simply too comfortable. most people in the core are labour aristocrats. the rest of the world will have to liberate themselves first
Iran is decolonizing the Middle East.
I've been looking into this a bit over the past few days. this seems promising

why would the battery makers make the juice inside so delicious if we weren't meant to drink it?
so this happened under Carter. the policy was probably planned under Ford. interesting that Ford rarely gets talked about and Carter pretty much exclusively gets talked about positively, yet something they did lead to this. probably nothing worth interrogating though, hahaha
that's kinda the US' whole deal
