I cannot get cursor to run #rstats. Is there anyone out there that has an idiot proof guide that can help me?
A huge release for the data science nerds!
Oh finance risk and climate risk, looks like a banger of a paper
My team is looking for a senior associate in our NYC office. A great role for someone in the #climaterisk space looking to spread their wings

For those of us without GDAL experience (i.e me) can this be thought of as a more low level alternative to the sf or terra packages?
lmao 😂
Lmao. I understand gen ai has issues that need to be addressed but I don’t get why people refuse to accept it can be a useful time saving tool
A nice podcast on the catastrophe bond market. It’s been a huge year for the market and I am very much looking forward to a hibernation over the Holidays #climaterisk

I will put my two cents in and I really find it helps me code faster and solve little road blocks.

I’m looking to hire a summer intern that’s interested in #climateris!. If you like natural hazards, finance, and tech this is a great team to be on

I find it helps to patch stuff together across a number of data sources. To be honest, if you have clean datasets it’s probably not needed. But it has its place in the toolbox for messier datasets
How do I add this as a recognised word? 😂
Ugh
I’ve been using edit mode for my #rstats code in position over the last week. Honestly, it feels like magic.
Also, I’d encourage people to apply early if they can!
#CLIMATERISK JOBS
Moody’s RMS has opened up hiring for a bunch of entry level roles in London, NYC and Edinburgh.
These are positions across our model development, customer success (my org), and data science teams. If you are a grad or soon to be grad looking for work this could be for you!
I remembered seeing this and it came in so clutch cleaning up data that had a number of different data versions in it #rstats
arrow::open_csv_dataset() does something similar too
A cool job for the climate-data-finance nerds
Looks like Apache Sedona has been democratised for smaller datasets and local analyses. Looking forward to making my #rstats code go brrrr 🔥

When the world's biggest insurer says climate change has pushed traditional home insurance to its limits, it's already too late to start preparing. And we are in no way ready for a post-insurance world.

In part it’s the reinsurance cycle and we’re in a softening phase there. There’s also a structural softening of financial conditions with interest rates falling.
Oh my word. There is a r package for everything.
At the Minnesota state fair today, what’s this years must eat?
I am in Milwaukee for a wedding- no one told me it’s giving Williamsburg Brooklyn pre-2010
You can catch me at the other climate proof events though!
I will unfortunately not be able to make this years @climateproof.news happy hour due to pre-existing commitments but you should if you are a #climaterisk professional!
